Okay, having some very irritating issues building a perfectly flat floor.

    Anyways this is my first map in Forge and I just wanted to start with something simple, so I decided on a basic map design, two main bases with two secondary bases offset from a center structure, I'm not looking to make a masterpiece, just getting used to forge.

    Anyways I've been loving the edit coordinates and have used it for the majority of the map.

    I'm having one problem though, I built the map over a random part of the ocean and therefor I needed to build a floor, now for some reason I can't get my floor (made of 9 of the biggest walls) to stay straight. I built it with edit coordinates when I first started and had it perfectly flat, I built the walls and two tunnel/grav lift structures and then saved the map, the floor was flat.

    Next time I load it up the floor is weird... The walls seemed to have shifted slightly and had gaps and height differences. I deleted the floor and restarted, getting it flat, same thing happened, I saved, reloaded and the floor was messed up >__<

    Anyways please download the map and you'll see what I mean, you can even redo the floor and save it to get the effect I'm getting if you want, I don't know what to do, as I would prefer not to have to use the grids as a floor.

    Coliseum walls do that. It cant be helped.

    Okay, so should I just use a different block?

    I could do it in 5x5 squares but I've been trying to keep my budget low, as to avoid the awful framerate lag I've seen on other maps.

    I'd just mess with the coliseum walls and save/reload a few times to see what the end result will be. Bear in mind that slight position shifts won't affect the players - microscopic differences in height won't be noticed by someone running across the floor (the physics prevent them from bumping like in Halo 3) and many times it's not noticeable even if you look at it. I have a lot of small height differences intentionally in my latest map to prevent z-fighting, and it's not a big deal unless you're really OCD. Just make sure that on reload the shifts are small ones.

    Its a big problem fixed easily

    Snap the coliseum wall to grid point and then adjust pushing in left analog and adjusting with other analog and vertical alignment. Pushing in the left analog will slow down the movement of the wall allowing you to make it near perfect, save reload map and then go back and check, if not correct it could be that you are building the map over a coordinate shifting plane meaning you need to use a grid $100 and instead of phase, so select fixed. Then shove the blocks into each other and that will permanently fix your problem, afterward just delete the grid, did this help?

    The coordinates generally shift out of place when building bridges and such, its best to use grids in order to get it just where you need it. also 5by5 blocks are handy, but they can also be a problem when you want to build structures on them, not a lot of buildings go well with 5by5 The coliseum wall is just difficult because is rubbing against two different coordinate shifts because the map itself has slight differences in elevation.
