Cataract

    Cataract is a small, semi-symmetrical map made specifically for Team Doubles. It gets it's name from the waterfall it's built around, also known as a cataract. This is my first posted Reach map on ForgeHub, but most certainly not my last. Cataract is very enjoyable in doubles; everyone I've played with has a great time on it, including myself.​

    I really like the feel of the map, kinda close to water, facility feel.....I don't know. I'm look forward to playing this with friends nice map, and great aesthetics.

    Awesome Map! Looks very aesthetically pleasing and looks like it will play well, I'll DL and test later, but for now, I give it a 8/10 :D

    Awesome map! The gameplay is much better than what it looks in the pictures. Definite DL and ideal 2v2 map

    My Eyes! It is too beautiful! My eyes can't handle it. That or I''ve sat in front of this laptop for longer then I thought.

    This map sucks! :p jk lolz
    Played on this and was very fun!(I'm sure you remember).
    From when I played, there were some problems that came up when we played.
    On CTF the spawns were a little messed up(spawning on opposite side)
    And on Team Slayer, I noticed that the grenade launcher spawned a little too often for
    my taste.
    Other then that, it's a great map. Good Job!

    I'm still working out the CTF spawns. And all the weapon respawn times are taken care of. I promise. :)

    Great map. I especially like the aesthetics with that waterfall.

    However, I'm not too keen on certain areas (behind the ramps). I see what you've done to try an liven those places up, but they just seem to be outside of the battle...

    Great map nevertheless, I recommend people to download it.

    What do you mean behind the ramps? Like the DMR spawn? That's mainly used for jetpackers to get another way in and out of the area. Also it serves as a much-needed spawn hive for each individual team. By design it's not supposed to be the most heavily-trafficked area.

    Right. It just doesn't seem well used and creates congestion in other areas, thats all. Still, great map nevertheless.

    Have you played it? If you have you would know how useful it can be. Spawn hives like that are absolutely necessary and were I to open that up, The number of safe spawns would fall rapidly. Play a few doubles game or even an FFA and you'll see how not only useful they are, but necessary. Try using a jetpack too ;)

    loved the map when i saw it in forge, loved it more after playing it last night.

    only played a casual 1V1 on it, and then had another person join midway so it was 3 man FFA. This map is pretty damn awesome.

    1) The aesthetics in this map are top notch. the way you incorporated the SFX and lighting. The placement by the falls. The rocks enclosing the falls. The sign on the bottom that indicates directions to red and blue sides. The sword walkway. All of the aesthetics kick ass. Oh yea, and the light columns too!! awesome.

    2) Gameplay. Like i said, i played a 3man FFA, so i cannot comment on the TS aspect of the map. But for the 3 man FFA this map was a blast. I love smaller maps like this that i can load up and play a few fun matches with some friends. It can often be hard to get a custom party together, so its great to have some smaller maps that are still awesome that you can load up and play a few rounds on.

    I found no balance issues during the FFA we played. Weapon locations and flow all worked decently. There were a couple wonky spawns, but i think they were mostly due to circumstance, such as: Kill a person, sprinting away from the location of the kill to the otherside of the map. Person happens to be spawning where you are sprinting to. Its not the maps fault, the game just thought that was a safe spawn, and didnt know that i happened to be sprinting that way.

    Love the grenade launcher spawn! During the match, i made a frantic escape through the tele at top mid, shields low. Grabbed the Nader and i popped out the tele. Camo and Vorp pop out the tele, one by one, in pursuit. BOOM. BOOM. The nade launcher works beautifully in that corridor. Loved it.

    All in all, a solid small map, and going to be a keeper.

    Well, it looks very well put together and also like it plays pretty well. You must be proud of it, because the mouse over screenies are pretty sick ;)

    Thanks. I don't know why you liked that light area so much, haha. But yeah I'm not sure what was up with those. I looked into it, ended up not changing anything, and then I had no problems at all. So honestly I have no idea, but feel free to investigate ;)

    But trust me, I'm going much bigger for my next map. Gotta mix it up.

    Its definitely nice, but I feel that there maybe could be some sort of submerged bridge on the botoom floor to allow another path from side-to-side.

    I downloaded this map and strongly felt i needed to express my feelings on this. (so far i only went through on forge) One of the best features of the map of course is the water fall. As I went through by myself, all you could hear was the roaring of it. awesome. The lighting effects was nice becasue it seems like a cave even more. One thing i noticed, i think red lift, it lowered your shields as u hit the top. I dont know if this as been mentioned. If so, sorry. I havent played on it yet, so i cant get into detail on that. over all, awesome map, its a keeper for sure :)

    It shouldn't, I thought that was fixed pretty much. In Custom Games I don't think that ever happens. At least it never happened to me in all of our test games, I'm not sure about everyone else.

    I enjoyed playing on this mep, even though Agamer kept using his armor lock and deflecting my plasmas. It was pretty super moist helping make this in the beginning but it turned out sick. All y'all who think the middle is the only way to dominate the map, that definitely isn't true.

    looks like a cool map Ill have to download it to check the gameplay though...but from the pics the map looks really good!
