Here is a preview of my new map Toll booth. Some of you who have played unreal tournement 3 may recognise the tower from the map Suspense. Originally I had planned to remake the enitre of suspense without actually stopping to think how big it was and the amount of objects and budget that would be needed to make an accurate remake of it. After it became apparant that remaking suspense was too big of an undertaking, I decided to go ahead with the map purely to try to remake the aesthetics of one of the towers on the bridge and so came along Toll booth. Toll booth was originally made for just aesthetics but I decided to make it playable as well, with the setting of the attackers having to get from a highway tunnel emerging from the mountain to the other side of the bridge where the highway tunnel continues. The attackers spawn in the tunnel with a scorpian, a warthog and a falcon and the defenders spawn on the other side with nothing but a some limited anti vehicle weapons as well as the cover of the tower itself. Feel free to leave some feedback and constructive critisism, if theres something that should be changed I can still change it before I release the map.
Spam? Anyway, This map looks pretty fun, one thing, is this an invasion map? It sounds like it is but it also sounds like it could be assault.
I will get so pissed when I step out of the shield door and five seconds later the scorpion spawns where I can't reach it. Of course if you want to keep the vehicles close together like that, removing the shield doors would put all of that team's eggs in one basket. If you can find a way to spread the vehicles out slightly, you could remove the shield doors, improving gameplay. As an aesthetics map this looks great, but it has potential to become a great competitive map too. you might want to look into invasion, because it seems like the flow would fit that.
Yeah I put the shield doors there so the defenders wouldnt spawn kill the attackers or vice versa but since im out of budget I cant make anywhere else for the vehicles. I'm going to try and make an invasion version for this tonight since the objective spawns dont cost any money.
