So a friend and I were messing around with some Firefight settings, making our own gametypes, and we're a little confused as to how the wave settings work. You can select what enemies you want for each squad, and you can select if you want the squads to be selected randomly or in sequence, but what does that mean? It seems like only a single squad is selected, so what is the purpose of being able to select three different squads (or five in the case of the middle waves)? Any clarification would be much appreciated.
because within each set there are 3 squads, and if you put it at sequence it will first send squad 1, then squad 2, then squad 3. If you set it to random, it could send them in any order, randomly.
The initial squad controls the enemies in the first wave. The main squads control the enemies in waves 2, 3 and 4. If you set the order to sequence, Squad 1 will be Wave 2, Squad 2 will be Wave 3, and Squad 3 would be Wave 4. If you set the order to random, each Squad will be randomly assigned to Wave 2, 3 or 4. The boss squad controls the enemies in Wave 5.
So even though there are three choices for the initial and boss waves, and five for the middle waves, only 1 squad gets chosen for each? So essentially the only reason for having more squads than actually come is to have a random selection?
Only if you set the Squad Selection Order to Random. When the Squad Selection Order is set to Sequence, however, the squads come in this order: Initial Squad, Main Squad 1, Main Squad 2, Main Squad 2, Boss Squad. Btw, there is only ONE squad per wave, regardless of whether the order is random or seqence.
