Progressive Spawning

    I've been trying to find a way to make someone spawn progressively more forward in a map, the exact same way it does it on Race, but without the mongooses.
    Challenging maps that require brainpower and whatnot have always been my favorite. Trying to figure out how I get through to the next room, etc. Though there has always been one persistent problem, Death. You died, do it all again.
    I've been looking into making my own, but I pretty much refuse to without knowing if I can move the player along as he solves the puzzles. If you have any idea at all, please help.

    you could try Invasion, Invasion adds lots and lots of new features to Puzzle maps, such as Flag Escorting, Gating and Spawning rooms/weapons/vehicles, and upon achieving to the next phase, you can spawn new Res Zones, which act as a checkpoint, ive been using invasion as my gameplay choice when it comes to puzzle maps

    The thing that bothers me with Invasion is Phase Timers.
    Unless there is some magical way to avoid that.

    haha yea, ive just created a crappy puzzle map (simple puzzles) with the implied intent is to "Blow up" this ray gun satellite thing, and when you stand on the capture point, phase 3 begins, and the entire structure gets destroyed and rubble spawns outside to make it look like legit destruction

    but ive been thinking up ways on how to build puzzle rooms with hidden walls and stuff that spawn after a certain phase with the new gating and spawning thru phases thing, its really really awesome

    can you make race variants without a main vehicle? Or do a no return to vehicle timer and make each race check point in the different rooms?

    As far as I know, Evrito, there is no way to make it to where you don't spawn on a vehicle in a valid race type. As for the Return to Vehicle timer, there is no way to change it from the game options menu.

    Add a blocked teleporter at each room. When you get to the room you unblock it and in the respawn area is there are the teleporters, I'm currently braindead atm so if somone could wordd this to make more sence, go ahead.

    Ah! that's not a bad idea.
    To make a room dedicated to spawning, and teleport to the ones you unblock as you go. Yeah, I could do that, for sure.
    The only problem I see with that Em0, is the fact that you can only have a limited number of teleporters :/ Less than 10, I believe. Which counts both sender and receiver.

    I would stick to invasion. You can have one phase spawn you in an appropriate area for 2 or three puzzles. When you complete the last puzzle in each phase, you can set an objective. You can make each phase say 10 minutes. If you need more time, you can do an assault objective and set the sudden death to another 10 minutes. Shouldnt take any more time than that.

    If you want to to use a simpler gametype. You can use 2 way teleporters. You would need only one sender. To block the teleporters in areas you have not reached you could stack a crate on top of some fusion coils. When you reach the area. Blow up the coils and the teleporter would become un-blocked and now accessible.
