I was messing around in forge and I noticed that if a weapon is fixed you can't walk through it. So that gave me an idea. I don't know what gametype would use this, but here's how the object works: Player spawns in box with sniper. Can see enemies from box. There is a hole in the bottom of the box the player would fall through, if not for the fixed sniper holding him up. Once player empties his sniper he grabs the ammo from beneath him, and lets him fall with a few shots remaining. The way I could really see this working is like this: Temporary turret stations. Player enters a temporary turret station. He grabs a sniper/assault rifle/whatever the weapon for the turret is. Player falls into above scenario. After falling he can use the ammo left in his weapons to get to another weapon station. And so forth. Could be useful in making a tower defense style game, where you defend a custom powerup that gives zombies ability to kill humans instantly with focus rifles. So think about it a little. I might build a temp turret just to show it exactly.
You know what? If this works in the way I think it does, that means I can finally complete this map/gametype I started on Halo3 Forge on sandbox but never got to because of certain limitations.
Can you pick up fixed weapons? I thought I had been told that you couldn't, but I may be wrong. It might have been, you can't pick it up again if you drop it.
