Map Name: The Shire Gametype: Hobbit Hide&Seek Player Count: 2-16 Hobbit Hide&Seek is an infection game with two teams; Hobbits Vs. Ringwraiths. Hobbits spawn in the Shire and have about 20 seconds to hide before the Ringwraiths get a chance to jump on mongooses and travel their way over to seek them out. Last hobbit alive wins the round! Hobbits start out armed with only a golfclub/sprint and they do pretty much no damage, although they can still assassinate the enemy. Best bet is to hide and get assassinations when you can. Ringwraiths spawn with a sword/evade, do 300% damage and run 50% faster. Some of the hobbit holes have a teleport by the door, these will take you inside that particular home. Around The Shire: Here are some shots inside the hobbit holes: (fireplace) (This particular hobbit hole has been flooded) (Outside View) (inside view) Thanks to the testers who helped me balance the gametype out! I'd love everyone's input, good or bad. Send me an invite if you get a group together and want to play.
Well this could have been a truly awesome infection map, intead it's dull and boring map with good aesthetics. It's good to know you took my testing feedback into consideration...not! It really makes me happy I see the map a spent about an hour of my day writing feedback for not really get changed at all. Nice aesthetics, still terrible gameplay.
well this map just seems lacking to me, the asthetics in the holes just dont seem quite right, and it is extremely obnoxious to try and hunt the hobbits when infected
Hey Skisma - I definitely took your opinion into consideration and i really appreciated the feedback - I did however have a certain game play in mind and although I liked your ideas it didn't fit into the vision I had. I did however, enable assassination for the hobbits so you do have a chance, you just have to be super cunning about it - that's one of the things I changed after reading your feedback. Sorry you're so butt hurt. Not really. But hey if you can create a better gametype i'd love to see it. Dabobjoeson - I ran out of monies and objects :\ - how is hunting the hobbits obnoxious?
Okay, Honest feedback incoming. Aesthetically, its a great map. It looks pretty good, and the original concept is amazing. However, I found it pretty dull and lackluster once I played it. Its not incredibly fun, and ive played it with varients of 4-8 people. As far as numbers go, Im not sure, but I found this pretty dull all the way. I would suggest rethinking the map. Perhaps make a version 2, take in everyones feedback. The gameplay had one major problem, and that was Dullness. Remember, Gameplay>Aesthetics, but it doesnt hurt to have both. Good luck.
i played this map recently with some friends and had a lot of fun altho it is true that more people are needed for a fun game since it is a little bland with a small amount.... but other than that, its very creative and fun 7/10
This is an absolutely brilliant idea but you should really make bag-end on a hill. This kinda makes me wanna make a Mines of Moria map based on infection.
I really appreciate all the honest feedback - I was afraid the gameplay would be kind of dull lol. Maybe oddball would work? Hey Polaris, what's a bag-end?
Alright Clam I checked this map out, I don't know why you guys are calling this gametype dull! I did have a chance to play it with 14 people so there was a lot of action going on so maybe that's the important part, having a lot of people playing, but dude it was a lot of fun! seriously! was not dull for me. It really did feel like a hobbit village and going inside of the holes was super awesome. I'll say that hobbits can have an advantage by waiting behind the teleport and assassinating ringwraiths who come in but I thought it added a unique twist to the game. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed myself on this map, so did the other 13 people. Then again I really enjoyed the Prop Hunt gametype in TF2 and this is sort of like it. It's fun when you're hiding and a ringwraith is sneaking right by but doesn't actually see you
