MLG will likely never be an Arena playlist. And MLG won't send their playlist settings to Bungie until MLG's settings are somewhat finalized. They've said their current 1.1 gametypes are just for this upcoming Combine event and for V2 they're going back to the drawing board. So yeah, don't expect an MLG playlist until the playlist update after MLG V2 comes out.
