YouTube - Halo Reach Frigate: UNSC Trebuchet by rifte Hey everyone, I've returned to forging and for my first map I decided to make a ship. I personally consider this more of a warm-up map, something to use to get used to the new forge with. It comes with 6 drop pods(will explain how they work in a bit) and a MAC cannon. The map took me 10ish hours in total not including the work Phenom did. Big thanks to JerZ Phenom for making the buildings underneath the map, we tried supporting Invasion for this map but with the limited budget I didn't like how the map played and so the map is now just for aesthetic or Machinima purposes. Drop Pods. There are six! A closeup. To work them, just pick up the assault rifle holding them up. No custom powerup this time around. The cool part is that they now actually allow you to survive the drop because the height would normally kill you. Weapons Hangar Bridge with MAC cannon. To activate just flip the mongoose at the front. Thanks for reading
Omg can you please make a tut vid for the drop pods?!?!? I'd love you as much as i love women and cookies. I've been testing out ways to recreate these, but the barricades would split in mid-air and leave me to hit the ground. I've tried the H3 old power-up setup, but it just isn't the same (unless my forging of drop pods have just gotten worse) But pleaseeeee tut vid ?!?!
This map is truly stunning Rifte, it sucks that it didn't work out for Invasion, but the map itself is just amazing. I love how its a bigger and badder (in a good way) version of your Halo 3 ship, with buildings below. Had lots of fun playing on this map, I think everyone should take the time to look at this! BTW, love the video, I saw myself 5 times!
I've been waiting for this ever since you first showed me the ship and drop pods. Insta-download! You have a real good sense of how you give you maps and games a campaign-like feel to them. I'm excited to check this map out in depth and get some games in on it. Out of all (the many many) ships I've seen out there, yours is the best looking for sure. That's really cool that you can only survive the fall if you take a drop pod. You are quite clever rifte! Great map! Keep inviting me to your test sessions!
Words cant describe how awesome this map is. I wasn't around on XBL when you first created your last one but this was a instant grab to me. The Drop pod was what made me want to get this the most. Never thought of that or even if it could be created in such a way. Excellent work. Cant wait to see more of your work!
Yep, iv'e been waiting for this since the preview, and it's about damn time someone made an awesome replica frigate! I'm Dling it straight away and checking it out. Can't wait to see the drop pods, they seem to have everyone who's tried to create them stumped so far. Ill post some feedback shortly. Great Job! Well, its really nicely forged, and the drop pods work really well, staying together all the way down. The only fault i could give them is that if you pick up one of the fixed weapons on the wall and try to use the drop pod by swapping your weapon for the AR, it will get stuck. The only downsides to the map are the way it has no bridge and the how awkward the mac cannon is to fire. maybe build a mini bridge where the mongoose is, so when you go up to the control panel, it gives you the option to fire the cannon. A really nice ship overall though.
This map doesn't play anything specific unless you want to play a game of slayer on it.. Yep, as I said before I'll be making a video tutorial for the drop pod sometime this week.
Insta-download. I knew it would be good when you posted on my thread talking about it ^_^. I checked it out, and I really like how you did the mac cannon with a idkwhatitscalledswitchwhereyouflipavehicle and the way you did your drop pods is a great innovation, the only thing though, is that fixed weapons when you die are also fixed in mid air when you drop them :S. I guess this isn't a problem though because it's not really playable. The small amount of space inside is a little disappointing, I was hoping you had made it able to go into the engine sections. It's okay though because ships generally are kind of crammed together, its hard to make a large interior.
Its about time another good map gets its butt on forgehub. I remember looking at this, with a full party too. I exactly said "Holy ****, thats a big ship..". Everything looked totally awesome, when I got off my xbox I realized I pissed in my pants. All I can say is wow, this map is amazing. 9/10. one question: what happened to the custom power up trick with drop pods? Does it still work?
Another amazing piece of work rifte! It was an experience on its own to see that frigade evolve. I remember seeing your vid for Invasion Repel on Reach way back on Halo 3, Im really glad that you brought back that element. I sorta feel bad for posting my new piece today, or this week even.. Excellent work on the map and the thread. p.s. I got my mic to work again.
Rifte!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You captured the map so well with that video. Not only is this possibly the biggest, most epic ship that can be created in Forge World, but it has buildings underneath it too! Great idea! Anyways, you did an outstanding job as always, and I cannot wait for whatever you have in store for the community after this "warm-up."
Supa kool! The only thing is that the thumbnail has to be an unedited pic of the map. Oh wait, is that unedited, well it looks edited so sorry if it's not. Edit: nope, it's defiantly edited, so you have to fix that.
YES!!! Finally my all time favorite forger has released his first Forge 2.0 map! And it's of his all time favorite forge subjects. Ships. I was a HUGE fan of your Halo 3 ships, actually they were one of the first threads I saw on Forge hub that were really good. No offence to anyone like AZN, SoGx, Gunnergrunt, or many other great forgers. I love you guys too, but Rifte was one of the first great forgers I saw. And I've loved him sense. Ok, now to the review. The video is phenomenal. The camera angles and quality are amazing. Also the map looks like the best UNSC frigates yet. There's been many good ones, but this one has really nice interior and 6 drop pods. I hope that warm up map means that you'll have even better maps in the future. Great job my friend, 11/10.

None taken homie. And by the way its just Grim. Rifte was rocking forge while I was still figuring out drop freezing and ages before I learned to ghost merge. I didn't even make my first cave map yet when I saw some of those ships not even speaking about any of my aesthetic work. True legends never fade, lol they just work on their rank for a bit. Not gonna give out your top secret current project, but that will be epic once it hits the shelves.
Yeah, they don't all work 100% efficiently every single drop, sometimes they break up, sometimes you just die(maybe you weren't meant to be an ODST?) but as long as you have host they should work most of the time. If anyone wants to know how to make drop pods, see this thread
