Ok. So I am in the mist of making my first map in Reach. It's coming along slowly but surely. So far I just have structures and some aesthetics in place, but I am quickly coming to the part where I need to place spawns and make game types.

So I know that it will be a BTB map. And I want it to support CTF, Assault, BTS and maybe Stockpile, though I am not sure about that yet.

What I would like to know is should I place the spawn points before I create the game type? Or should I finish placing all my structures and aesthetics first and then place the spawn points?

Place spawnpoints after aesthetics. Spawn areas go last since those depend on the spawn points. Ctf and assault objectives can be places once the bases are finished, but stockpile depends on the flow of the map which aesthetics can affect.

OK. So why is there an option to change game type in the Forge Main Menu? What's it for?

In order to be able to assign the tags for a particular game type, you must open your map in forge with that game type selected.

So, once the geometry of the level is worked out and you want to add CFT objects and tags, exit the map and re-open it with the game type CTF selected. You will then be able to place CTF objects and assign CTF tags...

Repeat this process for all the game types you want your map to support...

Once the objects and tags are placed on the map, you can view and modify them in the Basic Editing mode... however, you can not place them initially without first selecting the game type from the menu...

Not sure that made sense, but I hope it helps...
