This is my map, Skintight. I've built it purposely for Warthogs because, well, warthogs always were more fun to drive. To start it off you are thrown in the deep end so to speak. You begin at the top of a huge ramp, in which you are able to hit speeds of up to 160+ kph (if you can keep it going straight). Once you reach the bottom of the ramp, you will hit a checkpoint. You will also be greeted by a tunnel and two Shield doors. These shield doors are to stop people spending 10 seconds falling and respawning. There is a small drop from the end of the ramp to the shield doors, and again from the doors to the tunnel. After the tunnel is another small drop and a vertical zig zag of track, which can become quite a fight to stay on with other racers all jostling for position. A look from the end of the first area up to the start. There is another checkpoint where the warthog is in this picture. Originally it was further forward but people could miss it and would have to kill themselves in order to get the checkpoint, so this is why it has been moved back. The track continues across the beachhead and into the cave, where there is a group of mines covering the floor. They get closer and closer together towards the end of the tunnel, meaning superhuman reflexes are required if you are in a group of 'hogs. After the cave you will have one direction to go : back out to sea. Once you reach the coast, you will find a Rockbridge. Here, fast isn't always quickest. You may need to take your time to navigate the bridge efficiently, especially if there's more than one of you. Once you've crossed the bridge, you will be on the Highway. Be careful though, because it has fallen into disrepair. There are a few jumps and multiple paths to take, but you best make sure you have the speed to make them, or you'll be in the drink. At the end of the highway you will come to the second rock bridge. After the bridge, you best prepare yourself for the Kill Ball field. There are 8 different spawns for the kill balls to suprise you from, and they can respawn with more than one at the same place! After clearing the field of Kill Balls, you will get to the second minefield. This one is at the foot of a Hill climb, so expect a bottleneck to occur if you're facing competition. Here is the Hill Climb. It has been designed to be beaten with any amount of speed, but a good runup will shave seconds off your time. A checkpoint leading from the Hill climb to the overpass. The Overpass. Don't fall off, there is a Kill zone surrounding the bridge! We don't want you harrassing the latecomers, do we? Follow the path up to the Flashing arrow, which will lead you to the second Highway. This highway also has multiple paths to take. You can either choose to go up top and eventually end on the bottom, or take the Mancannon over to the top of the bridge. There is a heavy mancannon which flings you farther than the rest; this is where you should aim for if going this route. Once you reach the end of the bridge, it will seem that there is nowhere to go. Don;t trust your eyes, take a leap of faith... Once you re-emerge from your watery leap, you will have completed a lap of the course. Be careful though, as you can exit at an eye-blistering 200kph! In case anyone wanted to see a runthrough of the map, here is a video of it. Don't pay attention to my woeful driving, although I would still consider 2:41 a good time! This map is one of my favorite racing maps in reach so far. Being original and using warthogs was quite a great Idea although there are a few things I had problems with..mainly the 2 parts where it was all rocks and it was fairly bumpy. The kill ball field was Epic I loved it especially when 3 of my friends were pushing each other and a killball spawned on top of them. the multiple paths you made on the highway was a good idea although me and my friends thought there should be a mine or 2 on there. IMO all you really have to do is fix a few of the bumps in the rocky parts and the thin pathway after the killballs and mines should be widend just a bit cause theres no way to pass anyone on that. Overall rating 8.5/10 A must play race map and only one i have seen so far that uses warthogs.
Thanks for testing out my map and I appreciate your feedback. The rocks were made bumpy and unstable so that you take your time over them. You can try and shoot across them, but more often than not you will end up in the water (as I almost did in my video). The Hill Climb (what I assume you're talking about at the end) was made to be a bottleneck so you'd have people fighting over position to get up it first, making people more prone to hit mines. Also, why go around when you can go underneath or over?
Well, my other post was removed being it was "spam"...... So here goes. i really enjoyed playing this race track. The downhill section and the killball area were my favourite parts. I originally had a concern about the number of mines down (too many) but now i realise that they just make the map a lot more fun to play. 9/10
