Mergatroid's Train Station

    All Aboard!! This is a train stopped at a station (fueling up - check out the row of fusion coils next to front car -no pic-). There are four ways across the tracks, two bridges over the tracks and two doors through the train. This map is not confusing. The idea came from one of the walkway covers looking like a train, and this is what it turned into. I never plan maps, just get an idea go with it. During tests infection seemed to be the favorite so it will be posted in that category. This took 7 days to complete, 5 building, and 2 for spawn work. Budget has 40 bucks left, I would have done more for looks, like train wheels or few more railings on the main bridge, or extending play area out to the nose of the front car, oh well. Flaws- could not get the main bridge side doors connection perfect, nobody noticed so I will let it go, I am sure there are others, if you DL and notice any let me know!

    Kill Zones
    Touch the tracks and you die instantly, all other roofs have softkill boundries, train tops included.

    Spawns
    Spawn points have been set for max players. Spawn kills have not been an issue, care was taken. My max party in here was 12 and it did not feel crowded.
    Over 200 spawns placed, most are game specific

    Infection
    Worked fabulous, no spawn killing in here. Lighting effect takes place about 2 minutes into a round. People loved it and requested it be moved to 2 minutes it was at 3. Some take refuge in the train they are the last to survive. Adjust zombie traits for balance, large party = making zombies easier to kill. See what works best for you.

    Invasion
    Yes. In your face invasion. 2 cars are objectives then the core is in the engine-car which has to be brought to the main bridge in the center.

    KOTH
    Teams or FFA. Defend rail cars and other killer spots are up for claim.

    Slayer
    Teams Multi-pairs, FFA, formats supported, all set for max party size.

    Oddball
    Ball spawns in center, main bridge on the table

    Flags
    Yes. It works. (tested with only 2 people)

    Juggernuat
    (tested with only 2 people)

    1 signature Mongoose

    Many weapons

    Wow very nice. The map looks great and the gameplay looks amazing. The effects make a perfect infection theme for it too, which is nice and very creative. One thing I am concerned about are the Mongooses. This map seems based around or close to the train which isnt a bad thin, but I dont see a purpose for the Mongooses. It also would be very hard to navigate them throughout the map.

    -Great gameplay, aesthetics, theme. Bad choice of vehicles. All in all very creative.

    I liek how this looks and you clearly put a lot of time into this. The trains look excellent, I just love the whole concept of this tbh!
    Anyway, remove the mongeese since they seem pointless on a rather close-quarters map like this.

    Look like a nice map and I will dl it, but please stop using "effect change", it just SUCKS.

    Ahh the dreaded mongoose, I am pretty sure there is just one. Well it's pretty much just for looks. Some have used it to sprint to the other end. I see it as a splatter possibility when the tanks blow up, (it's towing trailer with tanks) since forge world does not have moveable stuff, this was my choice. It's not in the way so I will leave it.

    Added after 17 minutes:

    Yea I gotcha on that, probably won't use it again. I thought it over, but when dark, the inside of the train looked very cool. So the effect starts 2.5 minutes into the round of infection only, it's day then night. Also over head lights come on when you enter the cars. This was by accident. It would be great to be able to set the intensity of these effects.

    Added after 3 Hours 46 minutes:

    Map updated, a bad spawn fixed. I doubt anybody would have noticed.

    looks amazing, i agree that the mongoose is misplaced, but it doesnt get in the way of the gameplay.

    This map looks really cool! I'm going to download.

    You said that the effect starts during the round of infection? I think it would be better if the effect didn't have a delayed spawn and that it stayed "Night-time" the whole time, because it looks cool with the effect on and adds that infection atmosphere.

    I just played this an hour ago. I love the entire feel of the map. The night time effect on infection is great because it adds that dark and foreboding feel. I love the train the most. The creativity on the forging is great and looks well too. I hope more good maps come out soon.
