It was said that it can't be done, but I did it. I made a 1:1 scale remake of Gephyrophobia from Halo 1 PC in Halo: Reach! I forged the map while playing Halo 1 on my PC right next to me. I measured the length of pathways by counting the number of seconds it takes for one to walk from point A to B. I added more spawn points to prevent spawnkilling. There will be no spawnpoints on the catwalks (just like in Halo 1), due to having most of the battles end up there with people camping behind the teleporters, when I added the spawnpoints there. Vehicles: Ghost x6 Banshee x4 Shade Turret x4 Weapons: AR: x2 Magnum x4 Sniper x7 Plasma Repeater x2 Shotgun x5 Needler x2 Fuel Rod Gun x2 Rocket Launcher x2 Equipment and Powerups: Healthpacks x5 Overshield x4 Active Camo x1 Frag Grenade x2 Plasma Grenade x8 Pros: -There are no “hiding spots” in the map. -All of the weapons and vehicles have the same clip/spawn time as they did in Halo 1. -The map is to scale with Halo 1. Cons: -Elites were unable to go through teleporters, so teleporter frames had to be removed. -Catwalks are slightly shorter.* -The level isn’t surrounded by a canyon.* -There are only 8 railings on the map.* -The middle of the bridge isn’t elevated on both sides.* * = Due to problems with the budget and not having enough items/money. The map went through lots of playtesting, including players trying to “break” the map. I received help with someone on the spawn points, and got the idea of using $10 flat rocks instead of the $50 decorative covers. Dude yes I loved this map from Halo CE. If your having trouble with budget try getting rid of lights or stuff. Anyway yeah this map is awesome you have my download. Oh and some one should totally remake Huge @$$
I got rid of a purple filter I wanted to have on the map, but money isn't the problem. I ran out of walls and blocks completely. I decided to keep the lights because I don't want people walking all the way to the wrong base.
If i may make a suggestion, it looks like you might be using walls for the center column. If you were to get rid of at a least a portion of that piece would you be able to create the final raise in the bridge?
That, and the face that Hugeass, the map itself, wasn't that incredible. What made the map cool was the vehicles. We can't have Jets, Tachikomas, Scorpions, Longswords, or Pelicans in-game, so it would be pretty pointless to even make the map.
