So I was messing around in Forge World and I've discovered some pretty cool ways to use Shield Doors. I created a "playground" of some of their uses.

    Sky Bridge:
Instead of walking on a bridge, how would you like to float across one with your feet dangling over a huge drop? Well now you can!

Sheild Doors can be great and precise when used as elevators/lifts. The one shown in my map looks basic, but you can do a lot of variations to make it complicated and awesome.

    Death Traps!
This is for all of those who like making an escapeless fall to a painful death! Using shield doors or inclines definitely can add some uniquness to your maps.

    Impossibly thin wall jumping
When used close to a wall, Shield Doors make the player stick to that wall, so why not add really thin objects for the player to try and jump on to get a prize?

    "Sticky Mud" effect
When used on a floor, a Shield Door prevents a player from jumping. Im sure you can find a fun way to incorperate this into your maps!

So what do you guys think?

Good job for compiling all of these, but I think I speak for everyone when I say that we kinda already thought of these.

A tip I picked up somewhere else on this site was that one-way shield doors slow players down. You can use this for interesting effects; for an example, you can use it to slow players down from a man cannon so they won't get hurt or killed upon landing, or you can use it to safely land players and their vehicles from ridiculous heights (needs to be layered).

I've used one tilted at the right angle as a lift. I know there was a thread about using multiple doors to make one smooth lift but I managed to make 2 lifts using one door :p

    Hey, don't overgeneralize! I haven't!

Thanks for compiling these, like Nemi said.

I've never thought of this, I've only been tinkering with the landmine trick. If you place a land mine at least half way into a shield door, you can bump into it, setting it off, but without getting injured. You can use this as a 'switch' (door tutorial on here), or as a destructible wall that explodes when crash a vehicle through it.
