As soon as I got my copy of Halo: Reach I knew I wanted to revisit the maps that I had built in Halo 3's forge. These Maps were in hindsight horrible adaptations of what I was inspired by in the first place. In the beginning stages of my forge experience I decided not to use geomerging. This was a decision made by determining the amount of time it would take for 1 person to forge what I wanted and sheer laziness.

As soon as I got past the learning curve between the old and new I decided to start on my first map A New Parallel (Coming Soon!) Inspired by Marathon: Durandal's 16th Parallel. So far this has turned out very nice and fit the dimensions I need it to.

With my ADD raging on I quickly worked my way into a corner with A New Parallel and started on my second map Tycho's House of Pain. This map Is inspired by the Marathon Durandal Map House of Pain. Here I learned new lessons and made both House of pain and A New Parallel better maps in that time. After getting a style down, building and ditching Ideas I think I have the final product (geographically, This Is Pre-Play testing).

Tycho's House of Pain it a symmetrical two Base arena built inside the coliseum. Beneath the map is A square tunnel with power weapons. Man cannons provide a lift to the left and right landing heading up to the top of either base. Power weapons such as the Sniper rifle, Gravity Hammer and sword are located on a ledge accessible by the man cannons on the right and left or jet-pack. This map is far from the original design of "The House Of Pain" from Marathon but keeps with the same main principle that it houses every weapon in the game (I almost have it to the point where it will work with every game-type as well.).

P.S. The map has obviously been updated to work with Halo: Reach and it's new-fangled Jumping, It also kinda works without it too...

If you would like to collaborate I would love to see a complete set of marathon maps. I tried looking up some marathon maps in reach but found only one. It was a rather good copy of everyone's mortal but me. currently it is a suicide trap but if the original creator does not message me soon I might just do a map adoption.

The maps i have been building based on marathon are not exact remakes but heavily inspired by the originals. Maps like the original house of pain and 16th parallel don't work in a practical sense when dealing with reach. If only you could turn on skulls for multiplayer and make the players run around with no hud.
