I don't know if this has already been done - sorry if it has.
Earlier today I was screwing around in Forgeworld with my friend. I decided to make a wall out of capture plates - I was testing an idea that if you ran out of peices/budget and needed a wall you could use capture plates because of the fact they cost nothing. When I built the wall I tried to run into it but ended up running through it! I tested to see if I could shoot or throw grenades through it but they bounced off.
I posted this incase anybody would like the idea of opaque shield doors/ fake walls.

    UPDATE:
I made a video that basically demonstrates all of the properties of the walls.

YouTube - Halo Reach - Opaque Shield door/ Fake wall

If for some strange reason you enjoy reading more than watching a video, here is a list of the things that pass through, and the things that don't pass through.
    Do pass through:
    - People
    - Manned vehicles
    - Explosions
    Do NOT pass through:
    - Gunshots
    - Objects (this includes unmanned vehicles)
    - Grenades

If there's anything I forgot to test or you would like me to test just ask!

that is very cool, however, you use so many objects doing that, but good idea anyway

Provided the map you are making is relatively small and staying away from the OLN, it would make for an interesting "room" concept.

Can you drive vehicles through them? I would assume so.

That's another thing that I'll be testing tomorrow, although I reckon they do.

Hasn't this been discovered already in Halo 3?

I remember someone using teleporter nodes to build a fake wall.

i did this once in halo 3 with teleporters, except i had a very low amount i could use.
the only real purpose i can see would be having areas of the map with no lines of sight, without directly affecting movement

You could use this in mazes for hidden exits.

I guess you could make a small crouch height only back-door entrance using this. They wouldn't be able to see if anyone was coming in :D. And it could be used as a good retreat barrier.

Would be excellent for "doors". As in the big doors on Turf. The remakes I've seen use shield doors and such, which allow visibility of the garage, not entirely accurate.
