The Forerunners Checkpoint Alpha TheHatofwin Welcome to the first of my map series "The Forerunners". Really the whole purpose of this map is my way of making a machinima, seeing as i can't make one, i made this to tell a story through seven different maps. Checkpoints Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, and possibly Omega. These are still aesthetic maps to look good, but if you're interested there is very much a story involved. So far i have Alpha, Bravo, and the beginning of Charlie done, and if i get enough people who want to see more than i will provide. The story will continue through out the maps, starting off small, but turning into something bigger. I will post a map every day for this series and see what the response is and if it's good, you'll see at least 2 (maybe 3 or 4) more series with different stories, and i will decide from that point. Don't worry i'll still make other maps. The Story Quick note: This story is probably not at all accurate to the actual Halo story, but involves it a little and changes it. You expected Reach was going to fall, you prepared for it. You didn't expect what was lying beyond reach, lying in front of you, but you are a spartan. Most would ignore that distress signal, but you are a spartan. Getting off Reach was hard enough, but you made it, barely. The ship was damaged and couldn't go as fast as it could, but you were prepared and you could wait. When that distress signal was received it didn't seem like it would change anything, oh how you were wrong. Of course you had to investigate... Where you landed, isn't that strange. What happened to this building? A old forerunner structure, i guess even these have to break apart after time. Someone did had some fun with explosives here. The Vault. (The end of the map) The next part will start off right here. The series progression system, at the end of every map you will see one of these. The back row will always be the same, just to show the different maps. The front row shows your progress. The highest one in the front that has a hologram above it is the one you're on, the lower ones that still have a hologram are previous maps that you should have played on and lower ones with no hologram you have not gotten to. Since everything is explained there i will start with the story The Story Note: There is a hidden word or phrase on every map, find them. You got inside the vault, seems to be a lot of weapons, but no bodies... The other side of the vault. Someone must have needed to get past this point, they also thought they might try shooting thier way out. That door seems untouched, locked. Perfectly fine door, mysterious, but if it still works it's a way out. Something went through that window, not someone. That falcon broke right through the ceiling, how did he crash? The elevator (end) The Forerunners Checkpoint Charlie TheHatofwin IF YOU DID NOT SEE CHECK POINT ALPHA PLEASE CHECK THAT OUT FIRST. Story The horse elevator you rode in on. This isn't a human colony... It's forerunner... Someone didn't want you going across this bridge... Take the emergency tunnels. Mancannon (end) This picture was taken at the beginning so that's why the armor abilities are messed up. The Forerunners Checkpoint Delta TheHatofwin IF YOU DID NOT SEE CHECK POINT ALPHA PLEASE CHECK THAT OUT FIRST. Linktage: Checkpoint Alpha The description is in checkpoint alpha, sooooo yeah... So in this map we get introduced to a key character, if you actually take the time to look around and find the hidden weapons, hidden message, and another hidden object to do with a side story. (Maybe we'll here more in a machinima?) Finally, out of that tunnel, but that doesn't mean the forerunners didn't build anything here... (A message is at a location in this message, and it's not from RvB) Across the bridge, up to Alaska. A forerunner structure, seems important, maybe even leads to somewhere (or someone) important? ????? Part one of the finale is being started, oh and is this one finale... The Forerunners Checkpoint Echo TheHatofwin IF YOU DID NOT SEE CHECK POINT ALPHA PLEASE CHECK THAT OUT FIRST. Linktage: Checkpoint Alpha Description is in alpha, so i'm sorry about this post because there isn't many pictures, but this is a big map. It uses up all most all of the colosseum, but i can't post some of the pics because of spoilers in the story if you care about it, dl it for a better, more in depth walk through. In this map you are contacted by the director which you may know from Delta. Where ever there is words written with covenant weapons it is written by the director, The back hallway The directors lobby, end. So yeah, again i'm very sorry for the lack of pictures, but this is probably the best so far. ...and you thought i forgot. Here it is, long over due, i bring the last installment of the checkpoint series: Part 1. If you haven't heard of the checkpoint series, then you better head off to checkpoint alpha linktage: Checkpoint Alpha. First a little walkthrough of the map. You start in the directors office, looks like he ran off. Go through the generator room, get a falcon. Looks like one of the armor abilities is missing... Land here, go through the open door. (marked with blue) Go through the green house. There it is, the directors bunker. Press the button and blow. it. up. So that's it, the checkpoint series: part 1 is done. Finished. There will be more just wait. I'm thinking of maybe making a twitter account so i can keep people updated on the progress because i did get messages asking about the progress, tell me what you think of that. First off who says destruction means bad forging *guy in back* I do! *shoots guy with pistol* Really amazing hob dude. Serves it's purpose well. I have a idea for the story that turns this into much more than a distress signal, with a lot more people involved. I don't know about a machinima, if i get people that know how to do it i might, but your help would be greatly appreciated on the aesthetic part of these maps. I don't want to discuss the story here, maybe through a chat or a private message.

The maps help with the story, there is hidden stuff on the map that contributes to the story, but isn't mentioned in the story.
I love this map so much, the story in detail is really awesome. Reminds me of one of those innocent guy gets into this big thing. A little like Die Hard but a very different situation. Maybe I should make a master thread? With all the maps and the story? What do you think Hat?

Do you think I could do the master thread? So it isn't the creator. It was my idea, also I should also do it because then it looks better me advertising someone else map instead of you. Even know it was your idea, it's kind of like a director writing a book about his own movie. Please.
You know what would be so cool if Bungie made a campaign DLC that is pretty much the same story as this. Except the levels would be more realistic and professional. And a bit longer, and like at the beginning you would kill maybe covenant or wild animal things that like live in the abandoned place. That would be awesome, and at the end it would show the D******* (<--- spoiler). And the forerunners, that would be awesome to see a real forerunner in game.

really cool maps, but when i first saw it i thought i was a infection series so i thought it was awesome(R), but i couldnt find the gametype. I see now its a aesthetic/machinama but this would do really well as infection series. please make it so in the future
I love your series of maps, everytime I finish one I can't wait til the next comes out, and you make them so quickly, it is perfect! By the way, even though I think I already did this for checkpoint echo's thread but I would be very much interested in being in a machinima GT:Gammaj03
