The problem with key items is that if someone finds it, they can claim it's theirs... maybe if there was some way to COMPLETELY hide it so even if you got out of the level... Also, I can't get out of the level on foundry... or any other Heroic DLC maps. then where do you hide it? Maybe if you make a really elaborate post of the map on bungie.net first, then you could hae people compare the maps to prove it.
You need to have more then one, they won't even be able to find them all you can glitch them into places, plus they don't know what items are key items or what ones aren't. PS I have gotten out on foundry
Calimar was the first to do the street cone thing I believe I used it on BLOODYBEACH(BETA), with ALL of the street cones hidden in REALLY hard to fins places
I spent an hour trying to glitch into the fenced off areas in the corner.... I think we need a forging 101 on "Signing" your maps. Key items are a good idea, as well as saving the original forging video, although I am constantly at my 100 item limit and I forge across multiple sessions...
I recently finished a map on standoff (which i may or may not publish) and i used the save-and-quit thing like 20 times to float stuff so saving a forge movie for the whole thing would be impossible.
The only fault with the hidden stuff is that if you try to prove them wrong by showing them the hidden object then they can go back and delete it to say that you just added it in the the version YOU stole.
It makes me SO mad that we have to wory about people steeling our maps. To bad Bungi couldnt just add a signature feature that you couldn't change. it would only take them about 5 minuts.
Well first of all you would never show them the hidden object, and your version would obviously be dated before theres so then you still win.
I went a bit overboard with "key items". On my maps me and my brother just spell our names out with weapons on a blocked out portion of the map. (I haven't figured what to do if there is not blocked out portions.)
Yeah, the only problem that I have with key items is the fact that they take up money... Almost all of my maps use up the whole budget...
Dude if somebody stole my maps I would get my nerd friend to track down where they live. I would then change their account name to "I steal ideas" or "I am an idiot" then I would erase all of their custom items including the maps they stole. Then I would leave a note saying that I you stole anyone's maps again that I would steal their xbox and mail it back in pieces....
No, that was SpilledFuzzball (Gamertag same) Add him too. And: sglemus13 (gamertag: sglemus) For trying to steal Trick's D-Day
