Yes, I'm serious. I'm attending a small luncheon that Major Nelson/Larry Hyrb, the Director of Programming at XBL will be the main guest at. I don't know the exact format of it or anything, but I'm pretty sure there will only be a small group of people in attendance. With that in mind, please post any questions that you want me to ask him. I will go through this thread tomorrow and may or may not choose to ask some of your questions. (I don't even know whether there will be a discussion or Q&A, but hopefully there will be). I'm already planning to ask him why we still have the 100 friend cap when Halo 2 has already been offline for months
ask him why in Canada (other places maybe...) they only sell 1400 MS point cards instead of 1600, then charge 800 avg for a map pack forcing me to go out and buy another 1400 Ms point card to get a second map pack. thanks
It's a money grabbing technique, using an base-8 system rather than a base-10. Makes bigger purchases seem smaller, and makes it hard to get the exact number you want, so you have to buy more. I didn't know they did 1400 in Canada though, that's just unfair.
I have a small question: Now that the original xbox live is gone will we see the 100 friends cap lifted soon?
Ok guys. I asked him about the friend cap and he said that for the past year their main focus has been on the Kinect (which, after seeing it in action, I think is going to be great) and that we shouldn't expect the cap to be raised from 100 until next year, if even then. He also said and showed a lot of cool things, so I'll be posting up a lot of stuff from my notes later or tomorrow.
I'm guessing he didn't address why it was apparently necessary to take original XBL titles offline so far in advance of that time? Kinda gutting considering he's not very optimistic about timescale on the upgrades, though at least he was frank about it.
