On the topic of new missions, couldn't they just release missions that take place before the ending of the game?

To be honest Halo is at an appropriate time to end. I just dont trust Microsoft or 343 industries at this time, if you release too many of games in the same universe during the same time span it puts you off. This is the case with assassins creed and call of duty. I guaranty Brotherhood won't be as successful as the second game. But if they're referring to DLC then its best not to do it fallout style, where it's all released in all go and must of them are mediocre at best.

The only thing Halo-related I want to see after Reach is a game that explains the events between Halo: CE & Halo 2 (Halo 1 1/2?), IF that. Microsoft needs to simply let Halo do its thing; IF IT ISN'T BROKEN THEN WHY FIX IT?

343 probably wouldn't be doing campaign missions for Reach, as it is a Bungie game. Halo 4 has all but been officially confirmed.

I am not going to be cynical about it until I see the results. A huge draw for me to Halo is the Universe, the canon. I want to see more of it. I want to walk the world of Te, held pinned down by its immense gravity, see the Lekgolo in their homeworld as I fight in the Taming of the Hunters. I want to sail with the Sangheili as they eradicate the Jiralnahae and San'Shyuum from the galaxy and rebuild with the humans. I want to struggle as a Forerunner as the Flood consumes the galaxy.

There is so much potential in this universe still, so much history. Annual releases are a bit too fast, but every two years, or even 18 months, would be okay with me. I've been a Halo fanboy since Combat Evolved, and though I am sad to see Bungie go, sometimes change is good.

Well said. However, I doubt that is where it is going. Remeber the legendary ending of Halo3?
That's a forerunner planet, and I believe that's going to be halo 5. However, I would love to play through the fall of the forerunners.

Isn't 343 Studios assembled from Bungie members?
I really doubt that 343 studios immidiately when they get Halo from Bungie start to make it some Microsofts moneywheel if they are old members of Bungie that wanted to continue with Halo saga.
Wasn't the 343 Studios built for that reason to continue Halo the way Bungie showed.

So I expect that 343 Studios are going to keep Halo at least in similar class of quality.
I think they understand that if they would make it CoD like the "real" fans of Halo would pretty much disappear and the money they would make of it would also decrease.

So I don't think that they don't have any reason to violate Halo. So as we all know, Halo is allready one of the most profitable game series there is..

So as it was allready said before..
Why fix it when it's not broken.

I think it's fine if they make expansions whenever, but they should really stick to every three years for the main games. I think it really shows that they're doing well, when they only need to make one every three years .
Also, you wouldn't have enough time to play and enjoy the game.

The next spinoff should be just about Forge. That would be to much win tho. I think making Halo a yearly release is a bad idea. Just look at all the stuff in Reach are we realy going to run out of things to do in just a year. Don't fix what aint broke!!!

Some, not all, are former members of Bungie. In particular, Frank O'Connor, who has done some marvelous stuff, will be at the helm. We will just have to trust him.

Because if its not broken, it can be made into profit. Say you make a sandwich, a really damn good sandwich. Everyone likes the sandwich. So you make ten a month and sell them for five dollars each. Well, wouldn't it make more sense to sell ten sandwiches a day? If you profited only five cents net on each sandwich, you'd only make fifty cents a month. But if you sold sandwiches more frequently, you'd make fifteen dollars. Heck of a lot better.

But of course, people won't want to buy the same sandwich twice. So of course, you'll have to make different sandwiches or you will lose customers. Noone will eat a ham sandwich for a week straight, much less a month. But what if you make one kind of sandwich one week, and a different kind the next. People really liked that ham sandwich, and they're excited for your new creation.

Kind of like that. Halo 1, 2, 3 and Reach are all ham Sandwiches with different bread, cheese, and condiments. Still ham sandwiches, though, and people are getting sick of it. 343 will probably make a PB&J for us. Better? Worse? Hard to know until we get that first bite. But its different.

Change is good. Change brings profit.

Don't you mean Halo 4. And for the sake of God please do not say Halo Reach was Halo 4.

That would be pretty cool, but I cringe thinking about how many people would end up complaining about the look of the Forerunners, or about the vast presence of the Flood.

    Nobody likes the Flood.
