Boarding Action - Need Playtesters After a marathon forging session last night I've finally got my remake of boarding action up and running last night. It was getting close to being impossible to finish after running out of blocks and inclines, but a little imagination and heavy crates has helped me get it complete. I've used ramps instead of ladders and there's been a few compromises (head height of floor levels and ramps moved for better access), but it looks right and has the feel of the original. I've not put a special FX filter on yet as I can't decide which is best to make it look like night time, so if anyone has any advice on that I would be grateful Overall view Blue base Red base One of the sniper nests Level 1 teleporter Corridor on level 3 It just needs spawn points and gametypes added now so it should be ready soon for playtesting.
For night-time, use Purple and Juicy or Purple and Colorblind. They both look nighty in their own way, but P and J is darker. Edit: Um, I see you like Boarding Action, how would you feel about co-creating another one with me. It's tweaked quite alot, not only to counter the fact there are no ladders, but to counter the complete DMR dominance that would otherwise be on this map. I already have about 1/2 done. Just add purple. Anyways, the original Boarding Action had bright ship walls, so adding two White Lights inbetween both sides of the map might solve that problem. Just remember, adding too many Color Filters can make the map too dark, and make competitive play impossible. I'll be willing to help you test any changes. GT: hassanq. Also, have you considered changing the actual color of whatever objects you used to make the bases. You could make one side of the map red, and the other side blue to help avoid player confusion. Can't. That would make the whole map darker, where in the real boarding action only th sky is dark and the playable area is normal.
Definitely purple. Sometimes I put juicy with it. It doesn't matter, your map, you experiment. BTW, the map looks good. Really nice remake. It does look original. You did a great job. And security77, not necessarily, he can add those and just put lights in the sides of walls or in the middle. Some places are pitch black at night.
This looks fantastic. I've been waiting for a good Boarding Action remake. (I was thinking of taking a stab at doing one myself, but I've got a few other projects to work on.) Anyway, I can't wait to try this out. It looks really accurate to the original.
You could make the walls of different levels different colors. So then you can have say, level 1 be gold team colored pieces and so on.

I'm usually on after 9pm GMT. @Everyone else - I'm going for purple only as anything else does make it too dark. It would have been nice if Halo Reach MP had the night vision that the single player does, but we can't have everything.Both levels are coloured their respective colours (red and blue) and I will be adding a couple of lights to each level. I will be needing playtesters once I've finished so if you're up for it then post here and I'll add you.
Due to budget restrictions (I've run out!) I will not be making this map look like nighttime, or purple depending on your opinion. This shouldn't make a difference to how it plays though. All spawns are now set up and most gametypes are done. It just needs a playtest and then I'll put it up for sharing. I used the sheild and one way sheilds behide the teleporters on my Boarding Action remake, if you like the idea you could do the same, it kinda resembles the old teleporters in some way
Wow, this is looking great! Very clean and ordered. I was going to start my own remake of boarding action but I think I'll wait for this!
