    Skywars 2.0 [UPDATED! v2.1]

A remake of Halo 3's Skywar map variant.
Intended for large team objective gametypes, for 4 -16 players.

A map that focuses on aerial combat, it consists of two identical opposing bases blue and red with a 4-story central platform between them. The bases both have a "back door" that connects the two bases through the center building. Each base has an anti-air gun (boxed-up Scorpion) four Banshees and four Falcons. The weapon loadout is designed to provide cover from falcon spawn-camping while allowing an advantage to those that control the airspace, making for intense high-altitude gunfights for dominance over the skies. The map works great with large numbers of people and most team games.

    EQUIPMENT: (Weapons on map)
    2x Rocket Launcher
    4x DMR
    2x Sniper Rifle
    2x Grenade Launcher
    4x Plasma Pistol
    1x Spartan Laser
    2x Fuel Rod Cannon
    1x Plasma Launcher
    8x Sticky Grenades

Depending on the gametype, your loadouts can obviously change this.
I might have added a bit more weaponry but I ran out of $$$.

    VEHICLES:
    8x Falcon
    8x Banshee
    2x Scorpion (for anti-air gun)
    4x Shade Turret

A closer look at the Anti-Aircraft Gun...

...and behind it, a generator room... (the target for assault objectives)

...which doubles as an elevated sniper nest.

The triple room building at the rear of the base...

    ...consisting of an observation room...

    ...a teleporter...

    ...a grenade launcher...

    ...and a back door.

The central platform consists of 4 levels:

    The underside...

    ...the Blood Gulch-style base...

    ...the hill...

    ...and the roof.

The portal at each base connects to the center platform's underside as seen here, another portal takes you one level up to the interior of the Blood-Gulch building. and another on the top of the hill takes you to the roof.

Traversing the underside not only leaves you open to low-flying aircraft, but also to enemies taking the same route from the opposite base.

Moving up from the Base to the Hill leaves you completely exposed to aircraft and enemy fire.

The center is also connected to two smaller platforms on the far sides of the map, each of which house one of the only two Fuel Rod Cannons available.

Man-cannons can get you to and from these locations easily, as long as you don't attract any attention from nearby falcons...

Due to the velocity of the cannons, it is necessary to "bounce" on impact when traversing from the central platform. No such landing pads exist on the platform itself though...

...so a rough landing can actually damage your shields.

Continuing underneath the enemy base will bring you to a grav-lift...

...that sends you right in the enemy's back door.

Which completes our tour of Skywars 2.0.

What happens if you try to go out of bounds..

    BOOM!!!

    Enjoy!

    Map Variant: Skywars 2.0

Please contact me if you find any faults in the map build or if you have any suggestions as to how I can improve the playability.

[UPDATE 1] v2.1: 10/06/10 Link changed; update includes removal of neutral spawn points that interfere with multi-bomb/flag gametypes.

Thats reminds me. I made an edit to the list, headhunter is NOT supported by this map. I could be made to through a simple bit of forging but the map isn't really designed for that kind of play anyways so I left it out. All the other above gametypes listed work though, so try it out with a group!

    Edited by merge:

To those who like this idea I recently posted an invasion map/gametype of a similar design (Aircraft being the primary method of transportation) An attacking team assaults a fortress base with falcons and banshees. Check it out here.
