    Map Haiku:

    Lazing on the beach,
    I spy a slender beauty.
    Nope. That's a rocket.

    Supported Gametypes:

    Everything except Race and Infection (I ran out of items. Sorry.)

    Recommended Gametypes:

    1 Flag CTF - 8-16 players - What else would you expect to play on a "state/dance" map?
    1 Bomb - 8-16 players - Hard to plant, harder to disarm. Epic Falcon assault is epic.
    Team Snipers - 4-12 players - It' a large map, so fewer people might want some ranged weapons.
    Invasion Slayer - 6-12 players - The quarters are a little tight for the vehicles, which makes it perfect for explosions.
    *you may want to turn off the map's initial weapon spawns. Up to you.
    Headhunter - 8-16 players - If you like large-map headhunter, I mean.
    Invasion - 8-12 players - Remember, read team (spartans) has to be the attacking team
    *This was made with Territories/Territories/CTF phases in mind.
    King of the Hill - 6-12 players - Yup. Might want a slower moving hill for this map.

    Map Default Weapons

    DMRs - scattered
    Needle rifles - Defensive side in asymmetrical games
    Rocket launcher - Bottom floor of the building in the cave
    Sniper rifle - On the grassy knoll
    Grenade launcher - In the tunnel on the central boardwalk
    Plasma Launcher - Back platform of the D-Base

    Map Default Vehicles

    Banshee - Defensive base launch pad
    Falcon - Offensive base launch pad
    Ghost - Defensive base front porch
    Warthog - Offensive base front porch
    Mongeese - Cave, O-Base, D-Base (symmetrical only)

    Overhead View
    D-Base is on the left. O-Base is on the right. The cave is in the top left. The sniper knoll is on the bottom. It's that simple.

    Offensive Base
    Voila the offensive base. Pretty defensible if you decide to play some symmetrical objectives.

    Defensive Base
    This is the defensive base. There isn't always an exploding wraith outside. Unless you're playing invasion slayer

    Central Boardwalk
    There's a grenade launcher in the tunnel!

    The Cave
    The teleporter in the offensive approach building leads into the cave. Devinish like to rocket-boost his Ghost into stalactites here.

    Shallow Water
    Just stay on the shallow side of the buoys and you should keep your head above water.

    Lessons Learned:
    1) You do not fly the falcon over the big wall.
    2) You do NOT fly the falcon over the big wall!
    3) If you want to get behind a sniper on the knoll, jump out the window and take a man-cannon.
    4) Wraiths don't float.
    5) Neither does Cosmic Rick.

    Final Notes:
    Thanks to everybody who was involved in this map. Testers, idea-men, forge-gnomes, and friends, I thank you! I hope the community has fun with this map. And I reserve the right to modify the map at my leisure (but I think I got everything set up right this time). Feel free to let me know when, where, and how I failed on anything in this big guy.

    Forge 2.0 yields terrifyingly fast forging.

    With that said, this map was tons of fun. I got in a couple games of Assault as well as Invasion, must say it was fantastic.

    The first Reach map by Cosmic Rick... I've been waiting for this (not to sound like a stalker or anything <.< ... hehe). Looks outstanding I expect the gameplay to be nothing short of orgasmic. Eagerly awaiting CR's next original creation.

    God gave you a gift. To make brilliant BTB maps. Good to see you are putting that talent to full use.

    I absolutely cannot wait to get in some BTB games on this map.

    Well, apparently saying this looks like a very good map that I haven't gotten a chance to DL and test yet, and saying that I intend to DL it, is spam.

    This map looks like a lot of fun. I can't wait to download and play it and I've always enjoyed a well constructed BTB map and this looks like it pulls things off excellently.

    If this gets marked as spam I doubt I'll ever log into ForgeHub again, because I had EVERY intention to give my input here, as I did. It looks good.

    Why not just try it out and then come back and comment? You could avoid the whole situation that way.

    Regardless, I DL'd and did a forgethru....and I must say that it is all that I would expect from a Cosmic map. The structures are impressive and imposing and of course the forging is flawless. You sure have come a long way since Temple of Doom my friend, kudos.

    I will say this though...I hate you. lol. I am 80% done with a BTB map in a similar area of FW and now I am going to have to post in the shadow of this map, BOO THIS MAN, BOOOOOOOOOOO!

    Wow, I totally managed to skim over this in the forums without realizing it was a Cosmic Rick map. /fail

    Fails aside, I did a forgethrough, and the layout looked somewhat questionable. The whole cave area seemed completely redundant, though I may be wrong as I haven't played it yet. Also, the entire walkway circumnavigating the D-base seemed a little iffy in terms of gameplay to me. Long, single-option paths with little to no cover never really work out.

    Of course, I'm saying this from a designer's point of view who forges at the largest usually 4v4 maps, so it what I've said might not be a problem. I've also seen plenty of your work and it's obvious that you know what you're doing.

    I'm going to try and request this map to be played the next time I'm in Nonduals customs.

    hawaii represent! likin the name... ive played 1 invasion game and i have fallen inlove with it... its just as well flowing as your other maps and hope you continue your good work in both forging and name creativity

    In a slightly more serious note, cool, you live on Hawaii too?

    And on topic: Rick, you've done it again. Just another amazing asymmetrical map that pleases everyone.

    I hate to leave an impromptu comment on this map without having played it, but come on, how could I resist? It says Hawaii on it. You forced my hand.

    Mainly because I'll probably end up playing this in ac ustom with Cosmic right off the bat. If I'm not allowed to comment based on what I see in screenshots and can gather from the information, I'll just head over to Xforgery or GoO where I could, and most of the same maps are available for critiquing.


    As for the map itself I gave it a little skim in forge (I then returned to Furnel for further work xD) and I like a lot of what I see. THere are a few things that I think could use a bit of tweaking but I'd have to look in greater detail and give you my feedback directly I'll probably PM you through GoO Cosmic. Hope to get a chance to play this with you soon!

    Really great map! Invasion was extremely fun, and the balance never felt off. The layout was also really great, as lifting between the two sides of the map is always great fun. The defender's base is also really awesome. It's so intimidating with its size, but greatly forged on the inside. Overall, it's an awesome map. I'm really looking forward to seeing more from you, even if I never found where the falcon spawns >_>

    Thanks for the comments, guys. I'm pretty happy with this as my first Reach map. Glad it seems to be working properly for everybody.

    The cave area is a little lower-traffic than I had planned, you're right. But in games of assault and 1-flag, particularly with DMR spawns, it's an important path option. It's less exposed than the other 2 main travel options.

    And the purpose of the long bridges is to give you another option at the D-base. Since it's around a a map endpoint, you shouldn't ever be forced onto them as the attackers. They also give me a good side-areas for spawns. If the map were just the D-base, though, yes, I would see your point.

    So wait, I don't get any credit for telling to you use "Hustle" with "Hawaii"? LAME.

    lol, jk. Anyways, the one game I played of this was kind of fun, though, it wasn't with the full amount of people that should be played on this map. With that said, I DO hope to get some games on this in the near future. Hopefully before you release your next map (which btw, blows this one out of the water). ;)

    Just played through! Gameplay is awesome - But one of the spawns for Elites is broken. The one on the walkway (Not the one on the upside-down Round Bunker) sometimes spawns you off the walkway, giving you a suicide.

    By far better than the default Invasion maps (which are already getting old)! Can't wait to see another one of your maps come out.

    Very much enjoyed the testing sessions i got to have with everyone on this.

    This is a solid, well-rounded, and fun-to-play large team map. I also really enjoyed how you marked off the deep water with Columns as "buoys." Its a really smart and simple way to accomplish blocking the area without having to waste too much budget.

    I also really love the interchange over the water with the 2 mancannons that shoot to and from the sniper perch. It was always badass when you would be keeping watch on the perch, and then when the enemy team approaches to objective point, launching across the water spamming grenades at them like a madman. Epic moments.

    Also a big fan of 2 room, triples placed back to back. Those pieces are super cool.

    The thing that really gets me about your maps though is the simplicity. Nothing ever seems to complicated and it always works great.

    Wow, instant download. You really do have a gift for maps. This map is amazing, plays extremely well. I feel like im playing Utah Mambo (My H3 fav) again. Im really looking forward to be seeing Utah here. Best BTB map here by far. 10/10

    Why is it Hawaiia Hustle? Why isn't it Hawaii Hula?

    I believe that would have been too obvious. Also, I still have hula-issues after a 4th grade dance unit in gym class.
