Well, since I'm "blessed" with the inability to work on Vadmont's Ossuary, or any other map, until Thursday, I figured doing some concept work was in order, to at least keep myself in the swing of things.

After looking around at Reach stuff on YouTube, I stumbled across the Halo: Reach Mythbusters series (and by extenion, the BetaBusters and Halo 3 Mythbusters series), and during one of the episodes, I found some inspiration.

We all know that there were plenty of Dodgeball concepts back in Halo 3, and who doesn't know about the whole redirecting rockets with the grav hammer trick? But I guess something I've just not thought about until I watched one of those videos was the fact that you can redirect grenades as well (yeah, I'm a little late on that one, I know).

So what about a game set up in the Colosseum, with th exact setup of the map yet to be determined, in which the weapon loadout consists of a Grav Hammer and a number of Plasma Grenades? It may have been done before, I don't know, but I'm betting I'm not the first to have the idea. Either way, I think a game that consists of hammering around grenades that are being thrown at you would be a blast, especially if some type of objective was paired with it (Invasion baseball, anyone??).

Thoughts, comments, dibs on already having the idea and being halfway done with the map?

you could definitely give rockets and armor lock for more fun stuff.

That was another thought, adding a second loadout with rockets, frags, and armor locks. The initial loadout, in terms of Armor abilities, might have sprint, or (to make things interesting) maybe Hologram or something Drop Shield would be an option, but that would require some playtesting--I'd be worried about people hoarding dropshields and rockets, or something.

Perhaps a Grenade Launcher-based loadout could make its way in as well. I did think about the Plasma Launcher, but seeing as those grenades will home in on the target even when redirected, I think that would defeat the purpose. Maybe instead of a loadout, one would spawn as the power weapon of the setup.

Excellent point. Teamkills would just be the ugly reality of that gametype, but I could see that being a draw as well lol. The setup would probably work for regular Slayer as well as Team Slayer.

Turn off friendly fire. That's much simpler.

Gravity hammers, evade, infinite AA, and grenade regen.

    KOTH could work well.

Agreed, friendly fire, while potentially amusing in small games, could get irritating with bigger teams. Idk about grenade regen though, I'd assume there would be enough on the ground. But infinite ammo and grenade regen would mean I could turn off weapon pickup, andkeep the loadout classes separate.

Team Headhunter (or regular headhunter) would be even more chaos than normal. God, that could be fun.
