What are respawn zones exactly?

Are you talking about invasion or in general?

 

these have always confused me too... can anyone shed any light for both regular and invasion?

 

Normal respawn zones make it so you only have to change the team of the respawn zone, and keep all the respawn points in it neutral, basicly, a time saver. Weak respawn zones,... I have no idea.

 

I'm afraid you're wrong.

Respawn zones increase the chance of spawning at a respawn point inside the zone.

Weak respawn zones do the same, but don't increase the chance as much.

Anti respawn zones decrease the chance of spawning in a respawn point inside the zone

 

So it has nothing to do with proximity to an enemy or teammate?

It just has to deal with wanting guys to spawn here more than other places?

 

I beleive that if an enemy is in the zone, you and your allies will have a decreased chance of spawning on any point in that zone.

In short, they tell respawn points what to do.

 

So thats why none of my spawns in Halo 3 worked...
