War Zone

    War Zone v1.1

    UPDATE
    Version 1.1 fixes the lifts on the sides of the towers to throw you to the top without any maneuvering. I also added a few initial spawn points for making sure the initial spawns are equivalent for both red and blue teams. So, if you downloaded the original version, go grab this one as it should play a little smoother. And thanks to those folks who downloaded the original version!

    War Zone is my first ever forge map, but please don't let that deter you from at least having a look. It's a symmetrical map that supports 6-16 people with the sweet spot at ~12. It's a tad big for 8 and a tad small for 16. Anyway, check out the pics below, and go grab a copy and tear it to shreds. Any and all feedback is appreciated.

    Weapons: 8xFrags, 8xPlasmas, 4xDMR, 4xNeedle Rifle, 2xSnipers, 2xShotguns, 2xMagnums, 2xARs, 2xPro Pipes, 1xSword, 1xRocket

    The map also has 4 health stations - 1 in each base and 1 at the bottom of each ramp.

    Thanks for the kind words! I think the hardest part to this map was making sure that the top level had enough cover to be useful but not so much that it hindered movement. Some early play tests had some people grumbling about the lack of cover.

    Very Good.

    Overall, thus far, I've played your map and it seems to have a good flow to it. The multi-levels are good once you get to the large amount of people. There are some issues though with your grav lifts. Some of them, mainly the onces on the side of the buildings, simply shot someone straight up rather than taken them directly to the top. Because of this people are just left jumping up and down for no reason whatsoever. Also I think the recommended minimum size of this map should be pushed up to 4 or 6 since it's so large. Simply having that much space and only 2 people seems a bit worthless. Outside of those minor things I think it's great.

    First of all, thanks for downloading, playing, and providing feedback! The grav lifts are something that I've been struggling to get right. That very issue has been identified in several play tests. I've recently gone in and tilted them ~ 15 degrees to help that issue but it still isn't perfect (you still have to push forward on the stick to make it). Any tips you have to fix this would be welcome. As for the minimum player count, I put it at 2 just to show that you could do that, but I'll make the change to 4 or 6 minimum.

    Are they not showing up as embedded? Because for me, they are. I didn't do it using tinypic. I just embedded them using the bnet address you get when you click properties on the pics. Somebody please let me know if they aren't showing for everybody. Thanks!
