I thought that it might be nice to have a thread dedicated to discussing easy and safe ways to accomplish the daily and weekly challenges. Here's some tips on accomplishing specific challenge types... Challenge Type : - Kill X enemies in Matchmaking Best playlist : Multi-Team - Kill X enemies within a single game of Matchmaking Best playlist : Multi-Team -> Select an Objective game type - Earn X assists in Matchmaking Best Playlist : Multi-Team - Earn X assists within a single game of Matchmaking Best Playlist : Multi-Team - Earn X headshots within a single game of Matchmaking Best Playlist : Team SWAT - Score X points on Campaign Best Campaign Level : Long Night of Solace - Mission Start - Kill X enemies in any game type Best Playlist : Score Attack -> Gruntpocalypse or new Firefight Matchmaking - Kill X enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with a precision weapon Best Playlist : Score Attack -> Gruntpocalypse or Firefight -> Sniper Attack - Get X multi-kills within a single game of Matchmaking Best Playlist : Multi-Team -> Select an Objective game type - Score X points in Firefight Matchmaking Best Playlist : Firefight -> Sniperfight or Rocketfight In case there are challenges requiring specific weapon types... Spoiler Heavy Weapon(s) : Rocket Launcher Spartan Laser Fuel Rod Gun Grenade Launcher Plasma Launcher Concussion Rifle Precision Weapon(s) : Sniper Rifle Focus Rifle Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) Needler Rifle Automatic Weapon(s) : Assault Rifle Plasma Repeater Needler Heavy Machine Gun Small Arms Weapon(s) : Magnum Plasma Pistol Close Range Weapon(s) : Shotgun Energy Sword Gravity Hammer Melee I know many people will say other playlists are great for kills or assist, but Multi-Team gives you more enemies and more allies than any other playlist. Choosing an Objective game type in that playlist like Oddball or Crazy King also takes total kills out of the equation and extends the length of the game to give you more time for kills or assists. I haven't played Firefight Matchmaking since they updated the playlist to make it a full set, but if there are 5 rounds to a set... there should be more enemies to kill within a full game.
Excellent thread! I love the daily and weekly challenges, they are one of my favorite things in Reach. I try to knock them out early in the day rather then try to scramble to get them done at night. I complete all the daily challenges usually so ill post tips up here for some.
A better tip for close-quarters kills is Rumble Pit, and Oddball. You can easily get 20 kills in that mode.
The reason I didn't bother with Rumble Pit was because of the chances of getting stuck playing something like DMRs, Snipers, or SWAT... or even Rally or Race. All of which could be difficult getting Close Quarter Kills. With Invasion, I knew that there would be chances for CQC.
Im kinda surprised no one is posting on this. I want this thread to survive! Anyways! For todays challenges they are all on Firefight Matchmaking so that's where i'll be The challenges dont seem that difficult, just time consuming.
For the shootin' and lootin' one, all you have to do is make a custom firefight gametype where you're invincible with unlimited ammo and you'll get it in half the time.
The challenges for today are easy. Just go into Score Attack, pick Gruntpocalypse on Corvette, and you'll be done in no time.
Challenges are like mini achievements(most of the time harder than actual Reach achievements) that give you Credits, there awesome . Anyone Notice todays challenge: "BULLETPROOF Complete 3 Rounds in a Firefight Matchmaking game without dying" Impossible? My theory is this is a hint that there bringing "Firefight Classic" into Matchmaking. More detail
While I agree that using Firefight/Gruntpocalypse is easier to get the total number of kills for the single achievement, I will generally try to knock out multiple achievements at the same time to play fewer total games. Take today's challenges for example... if you can play Gruntpocalypse on Outpost, it looks like you can overlap kills for the following challenges : - Be Their Huckleberry Kill 40 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the pistol - Going Outpost-al Kill 100 enemies on Outpost on Heroic in Firefight Matchmaking - One Spartan Army Kill 400 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking. ... and hopefully accomplish the last challenge : - Bulletproof Complete 3 Rounds in a Firefight Matchmaking game without dying.
Yeah, well usually you can't do that. Also, the Bulletproof 3 round thing was changed to one round. Bungie.net : Bulletproof Challenge Shot Full of Holes : 9/30/2010 9:13 AM PDT
Actually, I find that on most days... there are a couple of challenges that actually overlap if you plan them out. I'm glad, too. There appears to be an issue with this daily challenge. I failed the challenge when I accidentally played on Overlook instead of Outpost. I continue to play and survived without dying and the challenge didn't reset. I went back to the main menu and played on Outpost and failed again... and the challenge notification appeared again. Apparently if you're having issues with it registering... be sure to go back to the Main Menu and temporarily reset the map for a second to reset the challenge. Like I said before, getting the Outpost-al challenge first killed three birds with one stone by giving me kills for both the Be Their Huckleberry and One Spartan Army challenges. I then just kept playing Gruntpocalypse on Courtyard to finish them off.
I mean, today everything had to do with firefight. Usually there's a campagin one, a firefight one, and a few matchmaking ones.
Today... everything is Matchmaking. Just complete the The Love of the Game Challenge and you should be able to get your Gunslinger and A Great Friend Challenges out of the way. I got the Double Nickels Challenge during Matchmaking as well, but getting two sprees can pretty much only be accomplished by camping.
Sometimes it looks like it resets, but it really is just a visual hiccup. Play another game and it should fix it. Well, that's all it takes for me..
Did you take a break and turn off your 360 before completing a challenge? I heard the challenges reset if you turn it off.
