So i'm trying to add a thumbnail to show a picture on my race map Speed Element. As you can see, it isn't working. I used Tinypic.com and resized the picture i uploaded on it, to a thumbnail. I then posted the code + , but it still won't work. Can you guys help me out? EDIT: i also tryed just to post the URL from the RAW thumbnail image, but it still doesn't work. Where are you trying to get the image onto? If you are trying to get it appearing in the forum as a new map post you need to post it to the Reach Custom Content section. If that isnt the answer you are looking for you may need to elaborate on your problem.
A thumbnail image is a small version of an image... roughly the size of your thumbnail... hence the name. Where it says Thumbnail URL, you only post the DIRECT LINK code for the image. Not the IMG CODE, just the URL ( www.blahblah.com/images/mythumbnail.jpg ). The forum software will resize it to thumbnail size. EDIT: forum has auto-resize mod installed for the thumbnails. no need to create one yourself.
I appreciate the help, but unfortunately even after editing the thumb is still a black box turn that frown upside down, got it working . . . Thank you again for your aid.
This is annoying the crap out of me I resized it to 100x75 on photobucket and put in the direct link. What am i missing now? Edit: Ok i managed to get it to work after editing the post, but the thumbnail is really blurry compared to the rest of them, is 100x75 just a bad size?
I'm fairly certain that you do not need to resize your picture to put it in as a thumbnail. If you put in a picture size 800x600 then it will be resized for you. Your image is probably blurry because you put a smaller picture than a normal thumbnail and it got stretched out.
Apparently, the thumbnails for my earlier maps happened to pop up without me retrying it. I guess a mod fixed it up for me. It was never working for me, shroomz said you have to resize it for it to work, but idk the right way as of now Anyways, it may be a while before i submit another map, but i'm just gonna hope it works on my intent this time Edit: i just replaced that blurry thumbnail successfully, but i did literally nothing different from before, i guess something was glitched up
I said to resize it because I wasn't sure if the forum had auto-resize on for the thumbnails. Not all forums have that mod installed. Always best to be safe, than sorry. I edited my original post so people know you don't need to create a thumbnail.
GUYS! I figured it all out. Just go to Photobucket, upload your photo WITHOUT resizing it, and just copy the DIRECT LINK. It worked for me, so it should work for you.
