Ahh, this seems like a good map, I'm guessing it's set in space? Anyways, I think you inspired me for a map... the map seems good, as I said before, but I say that you should add more pictures so we can see more if we want this map or not.
I think it's just coincidence that they both came out at the same time, because about a week ago, I thought about making a map based on that art as well. I passed on it and made Lord of the Rings and Warcraft maps instead. At the same time I released my maps, a bunch of other LOTR and Warcraft maps came out as well. In the end, the better product will come out on top.
I Diddnt Rip Your Map Off, I Havnt Even Seen Your Map...I Ripped Off Mc Escher.. Added after 4 minutes: i Didnt, I Just Built Everytything At A 45 Degree Angle. Added after 18 minutes: I Diddnt Steal Anything From Anyone, Except Escher- I Made this map with one other friend- and he just did the weapon placements. get a life kid.
Sorry if I jumped to conclusions but I felt I had every right to. A map, with a similar concept, a similar name, in a similar position on forge. If it was just one big coincidence then I apologise.
Se7ensins is a modding community, no? Most people I know there claim everything is stolen, so I wouldn't be surprised that you act that way too. Edit* To prove my point; I checked out your map. It's not even tilted... How is this ripping it off? The map looks really sick as well. The only thing I hate about these maps is there never seems to be enough cover; is there lots of cover on yours? I can't see why anybody would think anybody else is stealing an idea to do an Escher map. Hell, it was actually one of the first Forge ideas that came to mind for me. I just never got around to doing it. It's one of those ideas that multiple people will come to at some point.
No offense, but walking around this map made me sick to my stomach. The wierd angles and sudden feelings of vertigo were so strange.
As someone who played this map before reading this thread and its (imo) misplaced reviews, I'll say freely that this is one of the most fun Slayer maps I've ever played. The best maps are those which you have to consider while playing the game, and Escher Prototype is exactly that kind of map. It's not just the same game with slightly different arrangement of blocks and platforms. It's a complete, engaging experience. With bullets. 10/10
Hate to break it to you. NONE OF YOU CAME UP WITH THIS IDEA! In Halo 3, buddhacrane made a map called distortion IN FOUNDRY... the idea has been around for years. Quit bitching about who got there first. /rant The map looks alright, but as mentioned ^.. it's nothing new :/ At least you've implemented it for an aestethic map though. All 45 degree maps are terrible for gameplay... so good call with that (Y)
