Seeing as how Lava Pit received a lot of attention on Halo 3, I decided to revamp it and bring it into Halo Reach. As you can see there are some major similarities but it is not an exact replica of the original. The theme and map is much more aesthetically pleasing. A few things(such as the Warthogs) were nerfed and a few things were added. I tweaked and refined the game so that it is compatible with new game-play style and features of Halo Reach. If you've ever played a game of Sacrifice on Lava Pit, you know what to expect. Enjoy!
That is some amazing forging. What pieces did you use for the center curved parts? Anyway, the walls look amazing, my guess is that it's a game where you push others into the hole? Or is it infection? Either way there's a download here, I need new minigames for my Custom Games Night. If I remember I'll edit this with some feedback. If not, send me a message in about a week. I'd hate to be someone who says I'll give it a look and then a further review, only to never click on the post again.
Aesthetically speaking, this map is breathtaking. I've never seen such beautiful forging. Gameplay wise, well, its just another Monster Truck game, and while they ARE fun, they lose their originality after a while. But then, this if FORGE Hub, and you did one HELLUVA job at forging! @tocen Thanks @Plasma Blades Feel free to dissect the map in forge to find out what pieces I used. The map is meant to be played with the game variant "Submerge". The object of the game is simple; push the other players into the water. The game has five rounds, each round lasting two minutes. You have only one life per round. Kill bonuses are given for splattering. @Dr Bowe Nur Thank you, I'm glad you admire the forging. I am aware that the idea of a "monster truck type" map is dry and unoriginal, but as you said they are fun and it's something that can always be improved. These types of maps are a great way to get laughs in custom games.
nice, and I suppose that you put a kill volume just under the water's surface? And it would be nice to know the gametype settings you have for the game. oh and did I say that your asthetics look gorgeous?
Had a custom game session tonight, this map was among my favourites Not sure if Ghosts are necessarily the best vehicle to use, but they did provide for some unique entertainment
I played it with six people. It worked pretty nicely. I would suggest that you set this up for rally, It'd be pretty awesome to have people running around in ghosts, running in hectic circles, accidentally knocking people into the holes. I like how the sides are open, and there are mancannons.
Seriously this map is awesome. The asthetics remind me a dungeon in Zelda Ocarina of Time and for the gameplay, this is perfect. Well done and keep good forging !
Wow, I loved this game in H3. My favorite part of the map you used the advantage of water to make a small simmilar pit in the orignal, didnt make it to similar but as a new member you know the rules unlike those other 11 year old noobs. Its also good that you even gave credit to the orginal, the other new members give no credit and call it "original". I would be seriously pissed if someone remade a map of mine without asking me. Good job on the map!
Very nice map, I absolutely love theamount of fun such a simple concept provides. I don't really see anything that could be added due to the fact that it derives its fun from it's minimalism and simplicity.
theres y corner peices sourrouning a dish? hmm ill have to download this to see for myself... should be intresting. id like to see a monster truck thing with revenants. would be more than just ramming but blasting them into the air too! ooh maybe you can make a Revenant version? just saying.. bungie hit a really aswm note with the revenants visual style... alien hotrod..... that shoots morter rounds....... how aswm is that?
This is a well forged map. The aesthetics are amazing and the game play is good. I would suggest you take out one of the two armour abilities. I would take out armor lock if I was you for better game play. I would also consider taking out 2 of the lifts leaving just two corners with lifts.
I love this map. The simplicity plus the aesthetics just make it plain epic. I had a very fun game with one of my Halo friends, we went 1 vs 1 for like an hour.
Pretty good ascetics and merging. Personally, I am kinda curious as to why KotH wasn't used. Nobody likes getting a -1 score.
Extremely good map! Nice gameplay, very very few flaws, and just amazing. Anyime I would play this a s a custom game
