I just posted a map. A damn good map if you ask me. I just made a topic post about thumbnail help. They're both just falling off the pages. Nobody cares to review my map and nobody cared to help me figure out the thumbnail problem (which after a few hours of searching. So please, I implore you, let me know what I have to do to get some responses. Apparently posting decent maps and asking questions isnt enough.
Oversaturation is a problem. The amount of maps being posted right now is incredible, and even good maps go by unnoticed. You need to have an incredible map to really stand out in Reach. That, or you have to be well-known. It's sad, but it's the truth.
Your best bet is to tell the right people for your map to get reviewed. Dont just say I WANT MY MAP REVIEWED because it wont work. wait until the testers guild return next month and ask them.
I'm having the same problem, I need some help with testing my current map before I release it to the testers/reviewing guys. I would have liked some feedback on my map but... nothing. Guess I'll just have to learn from my mistakes and get friends to help out.
Yeah I have the same problem. I made a really original and diverse Invasion map: Final Run. But it just got one response :<. I really hoped for some constructive feedback to make it better and some overall opinions. First I thought it was because of my lousy English, but I'm glad it's not personal =P
There's a ton of maps and only so many people playing other's maps and offering constructive criticism. However, I should mention - and this goes to everyone on this site - if you post smartly, helping people out and giving them constructive criticism and thoughts, you'll go much farther on this site than just posting randomly with stupid stuff. It's pretty much the only way to ever get to a staff rank or Review Hub title. So, if you want to be a good member of this community, get out there, download some maps, and give some useful feedback to new members. We all have to start somewhere, and newer members need more help than people who already know what they're doing.
Defnitely oversaturation doesnt help with getting your map noticed, one thing that just might help you out is if you put your maps in your signature. @rymcc83, the testing guild is there to test your map for you (once they come off break) but just make sure that its not a total crap map, and you've actually put some thought into spawning/weapon placemtn
Insane/Armadillo, Thanks for your feedback I will endevour to help with what I can on the forums. I have already attempted to help Scooter with his problem on his other post so I figure that Im going in the right direction just getting involved. Thats really what I meant when I said I'll learn from my mistakes. Armadillo. I know what your saying about submitting it to the testing guys, as the map stands now i feel its 80% there. I have put a great deal of thought into the weapon placement, spawn times and the look and feel of the map so hopefully it will play well.... but I dont want to submit it until I feel its my best effort I wont even upload it to fileshare until that point. You guys are welcome to join me later on testing the map or even for just a look, my gamertag is 'Hunta Evolution' if you would like to add me Added after 1: Also, Good call on the Sig, Im gonna try that now! haha!
