Daytona International Speedway

    This is my newest map i am working on, the Daytona International Speedway. I am also making two different game variants; the first is a standard race element either with mongooses or warthogs, and the second is a still yet to be determined custom game type but it will deal with rocket warthogs! Tell me what you think about the standard race gametype should there be landmines or any other ideas to make it more enjoyable? This map is about 90% complete and hopefully ill start working on the custom gametype soon. And if you have any ideas for a custom gametype let me know.

    Wow. It looks great; nice and smooth. :D

    As far as gametypes go, maybe you could make a mode where the "spectators" (zombies) try to kill the "racers" (humans) from the stands with sniper rifles or rockets or some other weapon. Just an idea.

    It would be cool to have a simple, classic race on this map. Just good old race, make it compatible with battle tracks, too.

    Well I contemplated putting two rocket warthogs in the box seats above the stadium and have one or two people start out in the stands with everyone else on the track trying to avoid the rockets. One people die they spawn in the stands with rockets and snipers.
    Yea I definitely plan on making a straight up race with some type of battle element as well. Thanks for the ideas and suggestions, keep 'em coming!

    Yea i will eventually need help testing so ill will send you a request soon. Just gotta find time in between the studies to make it.

    definately one of the better tracks i've seen on Reach so far. It looks like it should be a track, it's wide enough for overtaking. It's not packed with ridiculous jumps and it actually looks good. Very well made sir.

    I could see this being a tad on the boring side for standard races however, but i think it's ideal for battle tracks!

    Thanks glad you like it, and as I was testing out the track I kinda figured the same thing it would be a little boring. I have never done a battle track so I'm gonna have to try and figure out how to incorporate battles into a race effectively.

    Added after 11 minutes:

    So how exactly can i set up a battle race? I have tried to do a team race but for some reason the option is faded out is there any way to get the option enabled for race?

    I haven't herd of battle tracks. Do they have a website or something?

    Yea im pretty lost on making this battle track, the option to make the race teams isnt available can any one help?

    That big bump next to the pit is kinda bugging me. It looks awkward and I'm pretty sure Daytona doesn't do that.

    Lookin' cool though.

    Hmm didnt think of that issue with battle tracks.
    You might want to try set up a gametype with territories? spawn 4 mongeese as objectives so players have to get on a mongoose and blast the other players off their mongeese to gain the lead
    In territories now, you receive points for every second you hold a territory, so being on the mongoose, it'd need to be destroyed for the objective to reset. Just then set up a 15 second respawn time or something so the team that got killed have a bit of a penalty.

    I dont know, it might work, i have tried KOTH but to no avail. There is one thing i can still try before i have to look at another gametype all together. It seems simple and i missed it but chaning the spawn points to different colors.. lol. I think if i do that it might..might open the option for team racing i hope.

    Can't you fight on rally whilst the game is still race? You could just put the respawn time to pretty long as a penalty.

    Im not sure i have never done rally, but i dont believe it will work well with my map, unless i make about 30 checkpoints. lol

    I think that if you did it that way, it would turn into a demolition durby rather then a race.

    I will be testing both my race map and infection map this week so please respond or private message me if you would like to help. Also my infection map has made progress but i need testers with knowledge in infection maps to give me tips to help me make the gameplay smoother and alot more fun. Please let me know.
