When the virus began tearing through the ranks of society, you thought you could run from the hordes of infected. You thought you could flee, and hide in peaceful solitude. You were wrong.

    Welcome to the...

You only managed to hide in this coastal village for several weeks before the infected broke down it's gates. Those that were unwise, or to0 stunned to realize what was happening, succumbed first, to the undead hordes. Now with zombies at every flank, you and your fellow survivors must gather weapons and ammo, and signal help. With the light house burning at full strength, you sit and wait, your fate unknown.

Vicious Village is an infection map built in the Montana space in Forge World. This cliffside town is complete with four buildings, a lighthouse, and rocky outcroppings. As a human, you will spawn with nothing but a pistol and your wits. Be quick and smart, and claim your weapons before the undead claim your brains. Once you got a trusty weapon in hand, bunker down and hope help comes. Any good survivor will know the land you will be surviving in. To help you get up to speed, here is a map of your cozy little abode.

The spots marked with S's is where you will find survivors starting their search for weapons. (Survivor Starting Points)
The Z's is where undead usually emerge for their nightly hunt.
    (Zombie Starting points)
The area within the red borders is where you will be quarantined to, so don't go wandering off, unless you want to die.

Luckily, the residents weren't completely unprepared. You'll find weapons in houses hidden around town. It's up to you to find 'em.

I have also been gracious enough to supply you with some photos of what you might be expecting, come night time.

This here's the boathouse. It may look small, but don't pass up any opportunity for supplies.

Ah, the Cliff House. Who knows what may be inside?

Residents call this building the Shack. Not quite sure why...

This the Lodge. A popular meeting spot for the former residents, before large fishing seasons.

The Lighthouse. A beacon of hope in this chaotic struggle.

That is all of the photos I have at the moment. Fortunately, we were able to recover some video documents for you viewing pleasure:

I hope you can absorb all of this. You're heading out tonight, so good luck.

    Follow these easy steps:

    How to Download:
    (In Halo: Reach Main Menu)
    1) Press Start.
    2) Go to FILE BROWSER
    3) Then, go to NEW CUSTOM SEARCH.
    4) Go to FILE SHARE SEARCH.
    5) Search for my Gamertag, "Insanmiac."
    6) Click on "Vicious Village" and choose DOWNLOAD.
    7) Download "Dark Plague." The default "Infection" mode, Safe Havens and Braaaains Plus works pretty well with the map, but "Dark Plague" also was built for the map. Also, make sure you set it so there is at least TWO OR MORE STARTING ZOMBIES for any gametype you play on this map.
    8) These are also available at the links at the top of the post.

the map and gameplay looks good and fun, but i saw 1 shot headshots in the video. I've thought by now everyone would have learned from halo3 infections. The map looks kind of spaced out with some vacant areas and i saw dmrs, shottys, and pistols. Not the best mix with 1 shot head shots like i said before :/ maybe like 2 or 3 headshots? the zombies don't look that fast and have no camo so its a blind charge to kill any humans. Ill give it a DL and see how it plays

The gametype is really just a suggestion. You can play any gametype you like on the map. I set up the spawns and havens in such a way that pretty much any Infection gametype will function on this map. So try out your own gametypes.

I'm definately downloading this, its awesome.
Could you provide a weapon list for the map so people know what to look for. You dont have to give a list of their locations.

OK, as far as aesthetics go, you get a 10 out of 10. The game type, I think is perfect, and I love that you have placed weapons with very small ammo amounts around for people to find.
However, I'm not entirely sure you understand what people look forward to when they play Infection. Placing kill areas on the roofs was by far the worst idea I have ever heard. Ever. It completly takes the fun out of the game. When I am a human, I want to have to fight my way straight to the best spot on the map, camp there, and completely wreck zombie ass. When I am a zombie, I want all the other zombies to be fodder so I can be sly and use my skill to out wit and out maneuver the human. But most importantly, I want to feel as if I was in a real zombie apocalypse, fighting for my life. By removing the first place we zombie enthusiasts would go in real life, you have alienated us.
I'm sorry, I hate being a douche, but you need to know how I feel. Because other than that, your map is awesome.

I can't wait to start playing this, I really like the whole story and feel to this map. I just really hope the gameplay will match up with the map however, I guess I'll just have to find out on my own really haha

    Um...There are pictures....

Yeah I love this map. Yet strangely my friends always go to the same building, and camp there. They never try a different building. They last a bit but soon get overrun. This isnt anyones fault, just a strange trend I saw.

Its a great map. Aesthetically and gamplay wise, its 10/10

I think one shot head shots is the best infection game type. Most balanced IMO.

I don't think you can get on the roofs anyway.

WHY DO YOU SHOW ME DYING MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE VIDEO!?

Probably because my armor is so awesome.

I think the map is great and the camping spots are balanced.

This map was really cool. We played a few rounds of infection on it the other night. It was a lot of fun, the aesthetics work very well. All around, a good map.

As a poster above me mentioned, people tend to camp at the highest, most open building instead of utilizing all of the safe havens and other structures on the map. Yea, that can be annoying, but unfortunately it happens. It is not a fault of the map, it is just the nature of players. It does not hinder the map.

All in all, a good map and a good time.

I think you and I have very different Ideas of "fun."
I for one do NOT enjoy being killed over and over and over by a camping human while playing as a zombie, and I find it pretty boring to sit on a rooftop with my shotgun and shoot zombies the same way over and over. I restricted rooftop access and gave every building more than one entrance to keep people on their toes, and more importantly, looking over their shoulder.

Yeah... I think one of the most challenging things to do in maps is directing players and encouraging them to explore (Especially in Infection). Anyways, I still think the map plays great, and I thoroughly enjoyed building and playtesting it. Thanks to all who download.

I think the mix of aesthetic and infection is amazing. Bungie should add maps like these to the playlist. A good addition would be a graveyard IMO.

But where could I fit it? lol. You should check out my other map, Township of Terror. Its got a graveyard, and it is of similar style and aesthetics to this one.
