This is my first submission to Forge Hub, and my first completed map in Halo: Reach Forge. Thanks to my good friend Freakture for helping a ton with the back half of the map as well as general aesthetics, and my friend Neo for helping with the spawns a bit. This is Squall. It's an asymmetrical map jutting out of a rocky cove dipped into the salty Forge World ocean. The lower cove is a small, bumpy room with close quarters action. It spans out in 4 different directions, which twist outward to Red and Blue bases, and finish at a sniper's tower at the tippy top of the map which has a good view of the majority. Power weapons include: Swordx1 Shotgunx1 Sniper Riflex1 Focus Riflex1 Grenade Launcherx1 Concussion Riflex1 The map plays well enough with a smaller group of people, but it really shines in games with about 8-12 people. I have it set up for all gametypes aside from Race, Invasion, and Neutral Flag/Bomb. (I can add support for those if it turns out there's a large enough fanbase that wants to see them.) All in all, I was going for a scenic map that played well, and offered a fun balance between horizontal and vertical combat, and the central tower seems to offer an interesting push/pull mechanic to team games. So, there you have it. Give it a try, give me feedback, and I hope you enjoy it. I'm very proud of it, but still open to criticism.
Didn't Urk name his Forge map Riptide? Anyway, that cave looks absolutely fantastic, best use of rocks I've seen yet. The map plays well, although I am partial to maps with lots of bridges (read: Jetpack friendly).
Oh crap. He did name his map Riptide, didn't he? Well...Shoot. I suppose if enough people complain, I'll change it. It wasn't intentional. >.< Thank you for the compliments. I spent at least 3 hours on the cave, lol. And yes, I feel that the jetpack is very good on the map, but not overpowering.
I'll go rename the map right now, hold on. EDIT: Done. The map is now rechristened "Squall". EDIT2: Also added a couple more screenshots to show off more of the map.
