For my next map, I was going to make a predator map for reach. However, with armor abilities, this predator game is going to be very different than the Halo 3 style ones I've seen. Here's my original idea: Two predators start in an aesthetically pleasing ship. They have a small weapon rack. They can choose two weapons and one armor ability from the choices of jet-pack, hologram, and active camo. Weapons will be two choices between energy sword, plasma repeater, focus rifle, concussion rifle. (Thinking of plasma launcher and needle rifle.) This seems overpowered, but don't worry. Predators can kill humans in three ways: 1. Slash with sword. One hit kill. 2. Assassination. 1 hit kill. 3. Ranged weapon. Don't worry. Melee damage is at a lower than default level, but just so a sword will one hit kill, but a melee from a gun will not, as it will take 2 hits instead. Normal, non melee damage is lower as well. Example: a fully overcharged focus rifle will take out half of the human's health. (no shields, immune to headshots, regen health) Some ideas I had, but am not sure if I can implement: Can I force predators to be elites and humans spartans? Should I make the humans strive for a linear objective on foot, or have a more tradition, free roam predator style? Any questions or suggestions will be much appreciated. And finally, should I give predators unlimited armor ability? That was what I was thinking originally. Thanks!
Oh, forgot to put that into the original post. I was going to give them constant weak camo. Can anyone address the spartan elite thing?
What about making the game type invasion slayer? You would have Spartans Vs Elites. You can hide the second and third tier load outs. And you would still be able to set the scoring by the kills. The only problem with that is the amount of players per side. I looked through the settings for the infected in the infection game type but I did not see any way to force a species.
