Hello Forgehub, and welcome to Vertigo. This is my first Halo Reach map, however the basic design has been on my mind ever since Sandbox was released for Halo 3. However, Sandbox didn't offer enough objects, and my heart wasn't in it. With Reach's astronomically-improved Forge mode I have whipped it up in less than a week. Vertigo is a relatively small map that floats high in the air near the Island and Coliseum on Forgeworld. It is designed for two teams of between 2-4 players to duke it out - the classic Halo formula. It is two-tiered, vaguely reminiscent of Lockout, but in my opinion it flows better than that classic map. Being the perfectionist that I am, everything on Vertigo is positioned meticulously, courtesy of the great new coordinate feature. The weapon set is purely experimental at this stage, but this is what is on the map so far: 4 x DMRs (30s, 2 spare clips) 1 x Sniper Rifle (150s, 2 spare clips) 1 x Shotgun (150s, 1 spare clip) 2 x Plasma Pistols (30s) 2 x Needlers (30s, 2 spare clips) 2 x Plasma Repeaters (30s) 8 x Plasma Grenades (15s) 4 x Frag Grenades (15s) MAP OVERVIEW BOTTOM MID BLUE BASE (Red Base is simply a mirror image of it) CLOSEUP OF MAP CENTER Vertigo currently supports the following gametypes: Slayer, CTF, KotH, Oddball and Headhunter. At a later date I may add Stockpile, Territories, Assault and Juggernaut. Please be aware that I haven't had enough people or time to test most of those gametypes, so I apologize if they don't work properly. Thanks for checking out Vertigo and I hope you enjoy it. Any constructive criticism is welcome. Also, I'd like to have more people to play customs on it with, so if you're polite and competitive please send me a FR on Live, my GT is Lethal Force FX. Cheers!
This map looks very simple, but I love the way it looks. It's simple but close/open enough for Halo combat. Looks very fun. It's map like these that play fun, not the oversized overdetailed behemoth 'Cruiser, Ship' maps.
It is indeed simple, as it was my first foray into Reach forging, but many simple maps have been classics, like Warlock in Halo 2.
Small, simple, fun. Needs more aesthetics, you have $3,045 left! 9/10 (Lack of Aesthetics) Only other problem is that the teleporter receiver nodes aren't symmetrical.
Yeah, the teleporter receivers aren't symmetrical because for some reason when you emerge from them you jump to left, so I had to position them so that you ended up in the same place on each side of the map. Thanks for the 9/10!
