Alright so this is my map Phlow, with its corresponding game type Invert. The idea of the one way door used at a gravitational device came to me the first time i used FW. It wasnt until after i was done with campaign that this idea came to full fruition. I started with a simple platform, lacking edges, bases and overall aesthetics. I later worked on this map and perfected it with my accomplice, Dr.Dmoney.
Now i all know you guys have probably seen Bad Company Brik's Reverb and are thinking "ZOMG YOU JUST TOOK HIS IDEAZ AND MADe YOUR OWN MAP!!!REPORTZ"... false. Like i stated above, this was one of the first things i had ever forged on reach and although we share a similar concept, our gametypes are very different. I applaud him and his map and i enjoy the thought of like-minded forgers.
    On with the post...
The map i have created is quite simple. Each team starts on opposing platforms and upon start/respawn they can launch themselves via gravlifts into the pit. Once inside the arena, your are in for good until you die. This game focuses on the use of player inertia to create a unique combat environment. Players may launch themselves around the map and to gain the tactical advantage, they may use the rebound pads. These pads are inverted one way doors that repel you when the player comes in contact. Where the player to gain speed prior to touching the pad, they could be speadily rebounded across the room. Combat is conducted through melee and plasma overcharges, one overcharge and a melee should two the trick or two melees or an assasination! The ideal number of people for the map is a 4 v. 4 or 8 people total.

    Invert!

well i consider it a minigame due to the fact that it uses a map that is game specific. yes it uses slayer but the gameplay style and map itself are more light hearted than serious and can definitely conjure some laughs!

So the bounce back keeps you from falling? Do you use jetpacks, sprint or wha? A little puddled here.

Nope. all wrong. What happens with one way doors is, one side sucks you through, the other repels you. So i took advantage of this concept and made a structure where an array of one way doors with their attracting side down inside of a colossal wall. The result of this is players are stuck to the bottom side of the colossal wall, thus permenantly floating over the ground until killed by an opponent. The coolest thing about this whole thing is that physics actually play a decent role in the game. Players use their speed to induce inertia and float around the map even when not using the thumb stick. In addition they can rapidly alter their course with the bounce pads which are small one way doors that take advantage of the repellent side. Unfortunately armor abilities do not work on this game type as they offer no gameplay value, however sprint does give the player a sort of "bullrush" advantage if they get a good start!

Very nice, the bumpers are great! You did a much better job with the bases than me, IMO.

I guess our gametypes would be interchangeable on these maps.

Yea, it took us quite awhile to get the bases perfect. Lining up everything took some time, but it turned out pretty good.

This is one of those games/maps that are a mix between mini-game and slayer. Very fun on both levels. It would be great if someone could load up a video of this, so it could attract more people.
