    Anchorage

This abandoned marine research facility was the anchorage of huge Forerunner discoveries. 2-4 players

Anchorage is a small, semi-symmetrical map that is great for Slayer and Team Slayer gametypes, especially Team Doubles and SWAT variants.

The map is located just outside the exit of 'Hemorrhage', where the shallow coastline meets the sea. I chose this spot because of the interesting design that could be created here and it's one of the less obvious places to create a competitive styled map.

Anchorage includes 2 platforms where each Team spawns and a centralized bridge, connecting the two. Although, there is a rock cave and cliffside which creates alternate routes through to the opposing side. It has been created to be as equal for each team as possible, which the same amount of weapons, grenades and time it takes to reach the central bridge. This should make for really competitive gameplay.

Weapons on the map consist of:

    + 2 x Assault Rifles
    + 2 x Magnums
    + 4 x DMRs
    + 1 x Shotgun
    + 1 x Grenade Launcher
    + 2 x Sniper Rifles
    + 8 x Grenades

I've never previously posted a map on this board as I'm new here, but I hope to show you more.

Positive and negative feedback is welcome and Map Downloads are hugely appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Talons.

i agree. the placement made you be able to use the water, but also make the map look natural.

really cool, i just might have to steal your idea... and tweak it of course ;)

A really intriguing idea; I like your creativity. My only criticism would be that some objects seem randomly thrown in there (i.e. the single tunnel). I realize that some of this may be to provide cover, but I would like to either 1) see them serve more of a purpose or 2) see something more creative if it's going to just be used for cover. Still, that's a pretty minor thing to me. Overall a great ForgeHub map debut.

Thanks so much, especially for voicing your opinion. If you mean the single frame on the left of Blue spawn then yes, it was hard for me to find cover that fit the theme. Hopefully, I'll fix a few things up in the future. :)

I agree that this is definetly an interesting location choice, and it's nice to see people exploring the different areas of ForgeWorld for their maps.

Haven't managed to play this with others yet, but from running around I can say the map has quite a nice layout and is fairly easy to navigate, though I think the bridge may be too exposed, particularly in team games where it is likely to be main the point of convergence.

Also a little bit of colour would be nice, I think the cave area is just crying out for some atmospheric lighting!

As others have said, I really like the location of the map. However, although you did a good job with the forging of the core elements of the map and aesthetics, the atmosphere is a little bland. You might try switching the colors on some of the pieces, and as PTS said, lighting in the cave would be phenomenal.

Their were a few things with the weapons you might consider changing. I think it makes more sense to have the grenade launcher and the shotgun switched. I would rather run into the cave and grab the shotgun to plow down the other guy rushing it, then to rush the middle bridge and get sniped right off the back. Also I would suggest putting the spare clipsize on the snipers to 1. 12 shots in each rifle is kind of overkill for this small map might lead to mostly long range play, with little to no ventures made into the middle.

Also the side with 2 grav lifts is very open and it cold use a little cover, perhaps a building piece phased with the rock wall behind. Putting the small things aside, this is a great map and i look forward to playing it with my friends, proablby with an 8 V 8. i will have to let you know how that works out Ha!
