The second map i've uploaded on the forums Gatecrasher is very different to my first! Overkill in case anybody has had a go on it yet! as you may be able to tell by my unimaginative name it is indeed an "invasion" gametype map. it supports upto 16 players and follows the standard invasion gametype layout. the three phases are designed to offer a dynamic gaming experience but this will need to be tested and further tweaked before i can really advertise it with confidence! Phase 1 is the taking of the beach. Elites spawn out of view of the spartan position and have plenty of cover to work their way upto the 2 platforms/objectives. Phase 2 the Spartans fall back inside the gatehouse and other outer fortifications. the elites negotiate through trenches and cover to take the position at the foot of the gate. once phase 2 is complete the gate opens and it is a mad dash for the core. Once taken the core needs to be carried back out to the gate where the game is won. need to get some good honest feedback on how each of the phases plays. The first phase has been tried out and i got some very positive feedback but the 2nd and 3rd phases need to be looked at. hope you enjoy! MZ
Looks like a decent Invasion map, I'll give it a download and try it out today or tommorow. Nice use of the coastline, by the way. But seriously, couldn't you have come up with a real name for the map? Calling an Invasion map Invasion seems like pure laziness to me.
yea you are right, its late where i am so i will use that as an excuse for now. on the up side i am open to any suggestions for a better name. let me know if any names come to you when you're giving it a go tomorrow. hopefully "disappointment" won't be among them.
Gatecrasher! Love it good work, i'll change the name around later today! let me know what you think in regards to gameplay. the 2nd and 3rd phases still worry me a little. but i have not tested it with more than a few players so it could end up working.
