Overview Hi all, This is my first map in ForgeWorld, designed for BTB CTF on a fairly large map built on the ForgeWorld coastline and over the small lake between the beach and the island. The map is based around a section of ForgeWorld that has been walled off and contains two main bases, with the red base inside the cave at the top left and the blue base under the canopy in the bottom right corner of the artificial island. Teams have a choice as to which route they take between the bases; around the beachfront or along the artificial island or straight through the middle tower (with a falcons landing pad at the very top.) Red Base: Blue Base: As an asymmetric map the bases are different, though hopefully still balanced. The red base has a single aspect opening subdivided by blocks, while the blue base can be approached from two sides though it's overall frontage is slightly smaller. Both bases have teleports that take players out to the other corners of the map. Red base teleport goes to the top of the tower in the bottom left and blue base teleports to underneath the pyramid in the top right. Both bases also have equal weapon loadouts as follows: 2 x Mongoose 1 x Warthog 1 x Banshee 2 x Plasma grenade 2 x DMR 1 x Needle Rifle 1 x shotgun 1 x Plasma pistol 1 x Health station 1 x Spartan Laser 1 x Sniper Rifle (not in the base, but at the top of the paths up to the sniper area cliffs) Dotted throughout the map there are also: 2 x pairs of plasma grenades 2 x pairs of frag grenades 2 x concussion rifle 2 x mounted machine gun 2 x Ghosts {EDIT} Also, the central tower contains: 1 x falcon (accessible only by mancannon) 1 x gravity hammer 1 x overshield Misc info: Budget = $8965 Soft Safe area (playable area) = W63.7 x L100.9 Finally, a word of caution about the base mancannons. They are currently set up that if you walk into them at normal pace and then dont move in the air you should land safely within the dish at the falcon tower. If you move around too much you may be in danger of hitting one of the walls or the rim and do some damage to yourself. Trying to fix this atm, but they are proving annoying! Currently the map is only set up for CTF and Team Slayer with spawns in the bases. I intend to update the map next week with support for other game types (KOTH, Territoties, Multi-Team etc.) and re-do the spawns and secondary spawns accordingly. It would be great though if it could be playtested now to see how balanced / playable it is (or isnt!) and if anyone has any comments. Hope you enjoy!
