Hey guys, was hoping you would be interested in getting outside of forge world.

Here is a link to a video of a guy showing how to get past the invisible barrier above the ocean in Forge world - Bungie.net : Halo Reach : File Details

Once you have done that, go through the teleporter and make sure it is right up against the 2nd invisible barrier (that only stops objects).

You are then supposed to try and "outrun" the kill barrier in moniter mode.. I have not confirmed if it works but a guy on the bungie.net forums posted this (It got 0 attention over there, that's why I'm posting here) along with these screenshots, showing the full map of forge world (about 10x as big as what we actually see inside the normal borders)

    Bungie.net : Halo Reach : Recent Screenshots

So unless he was hacking, this is possible... and if this is possible, it may be possible to build maps outside the normal barriers, which would be a awesome change of scenery and add something very unique to maps who choose to build outside the borders.

I am trying this as we speak and I can't seem to outrun the kill barrier, but the invisible object barrier that you can't carry your teleporter past runs around the whole map, so perhaps in one place you can outrun it.

I just had the fabulous idea of adding huge man cannons next to the teleporter outside the boundaries to shoot me farther than moniter mode could ever hope too.

    I will report back soon

edit: man cannons suck. monitor mode is faster

edit 2: i have now got past the 2nd barrier, the object only one and have been able to place a teleporter on the cliff above the huge tower in forge world.

I am VERY far from the original map. this is unchartered territory!

I am already in the mountains bro, the ones above the tower, if that's what you mean.

I can also go through the entire forest/on top of both the lower waterfalls/higher waterfalls.

I can fly to the top of the tower

What I really want is to escape this stupid kill barrier though so I can try to build something out here if possible..

omg! I think I figured out how to keep teleporters from sliding back into the map, I just have to die right before I let go of A.

EDIT: woops im tired. I don't mean let go of A, I mean spawn the tele right as I die.

Edit 2: I figured out how to teleporter climb, as in I can get anywhere now because there is no invisible walls left, just a killer barrier and something which drags objects back towards the map, but that can be solved by simply only spawning teles the very second I die.. I am gaining about 25-50 meters every time I do this, I will soon be above the map.. I will go VERY far up to make 100% sure there is kill barriers everywhere..

    Hope there isn't though

Wow, this is a seemingly difficult way of getting out of the map! It would make building way the hell out there a difficult task for the lazy and more worth it for those of us awesome people.

    Also, no double posting/bumping :p

    Sorry man.

I'm almost at the very top of the map now.

By the way, do you guys think if I put a map up on fileshare for you guys with teleporters outside the map (I'm talking like way up at the very top of the very top mountains, it has taken me about 3 hours of work to get my way here, I'm not just talking about teleporters behind the 1st barrier..) it could get me banned?

Like is it a bannable offense to encourage this sort of stuff..? I don't know.. not sure how these things work

I dont think you would get banned, people went out of all the halo 3 maps, such as the blocked guardians sandbox map. This sounds very difficult it would be good if you could get past any barriers so it just became like a normal map, that way people would download it and use it alot. Specially people like me who cant find time or are too lazy to spend that long getting out the map each time to get a few blocks out there.

    Good luck mate.

Ok guys, I've decided that I will upload this on my fileshare if after asking around some more people say I won't be banned, as I am in LOVE with Reach and would go absolutely bonkers if I had everything reset/I was banned.. not to mention I bought Legendary so the money wasted would be enormous :x

Anyhow, the map I will be putting up on my fileshare will contain the following -

If possible, a teleporter past the kill boundaries (Have not yet found, but I can still go plenty farther out.. not to mention I haven't gone across the ocean yet, that may be where the boundary ends

A teleporter next to the huge tower

A teleporter on the back cove that isn't usually visible, it's past that big tower island

A teleporter on top of the one of the highest mountains

A teleporter next to the forests/waterfalls

A teleporter on the other side of the ocean (going to take me FOREVER to teleport climb there.. X_X... but I will do it for you guys!)

I have added little rock platforms under the teleporters so you don't just fall through to your death if you are in spartan mode, but yeah, all of this is nothing but a neat thing to show your friends unless I can find out where the kill boundary ends because of the 10 second limit.. so I better go find it!

EDIT: Safe zone 1 has been found by korn, the original finder of the out of map trick on bungie.net

It's a tiny, tiny little safe zone and is only barely pass the border but it's better than nothing I guess.. if you do the trick to get past the invisible barrier with the teleporter, if you do it where the rocks in the sea are, the safe zone is halfway between the invisible barrier and the rocks.

The area is big enough for a map, so there you go folks, we have at least 1 good thing coming out of this, we can build maps further out into the ocean now. :)

switch, I'd like to explore this further with you. Send me an F/R on live.

Also, has anyone actually tried putting forged safe zones out there? -.- It may sound stupid but I'm serious, has anyone?

Sadly once the map is saved a few of the teleporters seem to have completely relocated themselves ,though a few still work and i'm trying to fix up the ones that have broken.

The one on top of the highest mountain relocated itself along with the rocks it was on to inside the lower part of the mountain

The one over the ocean has relocated itself to inbetween the islands/forge world

And one has stuck itself in the ground ... -_-

This is pretty annoying and it means the map I upload won't be nearly as cool, but it's the best possible, I think it rearranged the teleporters because they were outside the map and they aren't supposed to be that far out.

Don't get me wrong, all of them are still very far outside the map, just not as far as before a few of them.

EDIT: Found second safe zone. Have structure built near it so I don't forget.

It's the cliffs that run along the top of forge world, usually you can't fly any higher than the cliff but if you go outside of bounds then go just above the barrier, there is a huge safe zone with no death timer all along the cliff face, but the structure would have to be built outwards from the cliff a bit as the timer is still in effect on the actual ground on the cliff.

Judging from this, I don't believe you'll get banned for posting a map that lets you get outside of map boundaries.

What I could find on the subject is:
    And this.

Sounds like you'll get banned if you upload maps that will mess up another person's xbox. I think the main reasons modded content was banned was because (over time) it screwed up people's xboxs... but I'm 85% sure an, "out of bounds" map won't do that.

you won't get banned for a out of bounds map, our best overall H3 map is out of sandboxes bounds and was featured on Bnet

Hey guys, I just uploaded a "Out of Bounds" map with teleporters leading to out of bounds areas.

It also has 2 teleporters that lead to the Safe Zone above the cliffs, where there is a huge amount of safe space with no kill timer that could be used for building a map out of bounds.

Please excuse all the random clutter as I was just messing around, it's just a tower and a few floating things, all of which are used to house the teleporters.

Tomorrow I think I will upload a map called Out of Bounds FORGE that has nothing besides 2 sets of teleporters, both leading to the 2 known safe zones discovered so far, the one next to the rocks in the ocean (big enough for a map but not huge) and the one above the cliffs.

    hopping off for the night.

now if only there was a way to take your name off the file as the original creator. do you think if i played a game with you than i could save it without your name as the original creator? i dont wanna be just a map editor, if you know what i mean. if i make a map on it i will give you credit in the description.
ill send you an FR later.

You could remove the name VIA modding, and in this case I think it would be the only way and in this situation I think it would be acceptable.

All you have to do is edit it to your heart's content and then save it as a new map which will list you as the creator. Maps only retain the original creator when the "save map" is selected, not when "save as new map..." is selected.
