I'm currently in the finishing processes of building my first Reach map (spawns, weapons, objectives) and I was wondering about how the kill barriers worked, like if i wanted to make my square map the only area to be in, and have soft kill barriers all around it, what would I have to do?
Say you have a square map. You would place four soft kill boundaries, one on each side. And then one over the top of your map. If you want you can then place hard kill boundaries further out from those soft kill boundaries, and one on the top if you want.
Alright, Safe Boundaries are "the safe" area of your map. If you're outside of a Safe Zone, you die. With Kill Boundaries, if you're inside them, you die. The difference between regular zones and "soft" zones is that with the soft zones, they give you 10 seconds to return to the safer area, which is outside the kill zone or back inside the safe zone. The "hard" in Hard Kill zone means that players will immediately die in the area. If players are outside a regular safe zone, not a soft safe zone, but a normal one, they immediately die.
Thank you Wraith, great explanation. Bungie wasn't very clear with their forge tools, and sometimes the advanced setting can be a bit painful to comprehend/implement.
