I created a Slayer map with a ton if vertical elements that you need Jetpacks to get to. I would like to use this map for Infection, but when i load the map as Infection, the Jetpacks are disabled. Is there any way to get them usable?

EDIT.** My subject should read "Any way to use jetpacks on Infection maps".

    Sorry about the confusion.

you need to create the loadouts in the gametype options

    Select slayer as the gametype.
Go to game options then i think its like base traits or something, then go to spartan loadouts. Edit them to your hearts content.

I want to use the jetpacks I have placed in the map during an Infection game. Why do I choose Slayer as the gametype? When I'm using Slayer, there us no problem using the Jetpack armiur ability, it's only when I load the map under Infection that the jetpacks are nit usable. They appear on the map, but nothing happens when you are near them.

Ok. I found the Loadout options but I'm not sure how they work. What does Tier 1, Tier 2 etc. mean?

Also, even though I've made Jetpacks available as a Loadout, and that works fine if you choose it at the beginning of a round, you still can't choose the Jetpack armor abilities that I have placed on the map, so if someone didn't choose A Jetpack loadout at the beginning of a round, they're screwed until the round ends. Am I making clear what I'm trying to convey?

Ok soz i thought you wanted an infection map.
SO select infection and do the load outs for spartan or infected, use tier 1. Set a jetpack for all 5 loadouts if you really want?

Um, I did choose Infection as the game type, but the jetpacks Amour Abilities that I placed on the map still cannot be used. Did you read my last post? Does that explain the issue? Also, what is Tier 1, Tier 2 etc?

Tier 1,2 and 3 is for invasion and invasion slayer. But if you make them loadouts then people dont have to pick them up, or do you want them to spawn with different AA's then pick up jetpacks if they want?

Hang on, are you doing Slayer, Invasion or Infection?

You can place jet packs on the map itself in Forge. People can walk up to them and pick them up like weapons.
You can also make a custom game type. Go through each loadout and add jetpack as the armour ability.

    Remember:
For Slayer, you get 5 loadouts.
In Infection you have 5 loadouts for humans and 5 loadouts for zombies. You need to make sure humans and zombies can have jetpacks.
For Invasion you have 5 loadouts for each team for each of the 3 tiers; in an Invasion game you can have a total of 30 different loadouts throughout the game.

I'd be more specific but I'd be wasting my time if I explain all 3 gametypes seeing as you only want 1 but you're not being clear about which one you want.

Trying going to the advanced options of the object and setting the label to infection. May work, not sure.

Ok. Let me try to explain again.

I created a map that I originally wanted to use for Slayer. Since this is my first time ever using forge, I figured this would allow me to get used to the editor. My map has a ton of vertical platforms that I designed only to be reachable via a jetpack. So I placed the 4 jetpack armour abilities throughout the map, in case someone didn't choose a jetpack loadout at the start of the round. That way, they could still get a jetpack to reach the elevated areas. That all worked fine. The I decided to make my map also playable as Safe Haven Infection. The problem is that the 4 armor abilities that I placed on the map, don't do anything while playing Infection. It's like they're disabled. Now I know that a person can choose a jetpack loadout at the start of a round and be fine. But let's say they choose a Hologram loadout. They now have no way of reaching the upper parts of the map, because if they walk up to one of the armor ability jetpacks that I've placed on the map, they don't function. You never get the option to press RB (my setup) to carry that armour ability. Does this clarify my problem at all?

I know your problem exactly, I read your problem in the OP, I am not retarded. Did you try my suggestion at all? If you set the label for each of them as infection they should all spawn.

Maybe if someone were willing to join my game, I could show you the problem.

If you want everyone to have jetpacks then make it so it's the only available AA on spartan loadouts

If you want people to be able to start with something else and then switch jetpack it's a little more complicating. I believe that the game may consider armor ability pick ups as weapons so i would try the following and play around with them
-See if there is an option for armor ability on map and make sure it's not off
-I believe that the default for safe havens is no weapons on map, so try changing that to "Map Default"
    - Also in safe havens the default is for humans not to be able to pick up weapons. Change this to "Enable"
    - If none of the above work set the weapon pickup in base player traits to "Enabled", The same option in human rates to "unchanged", and the zombie version of the trait to be "Disabled"

P.S. Try to stay away from double and triple posting and you did on the first page, There is an edit option if you need to add something.

It looks like you can't use ANY armor abilities by placing them on the map, for an infection gameplay map. This is just dumb. I don't know why you can't place armor abilities on any map, for any game type. If you can have an armor ability as a loadout, there should be no reason why you can't use that ability via an armor ability on the map. Bungie sure made creating unique maps waaaay more difficult than it should be. This is a big ol bummer. If anyone can figure out a way to use any armor ability on an infection map, please let me know here or via an Xbox Live message. Thanks for all the great help I've received here, it's just too bad that it doesn't appear possible.
