Rev and Geese on Alsaka by Blu IV and Hunted Trilogy

After a part of Alaska had melted, Forerunner structures were built, just to be covered in snow, and buried under the earth just months later.

Basically this gametype is a re-creation of both of Halo 3's gametypes ''Cat and Mice'' and ''Tremors and Mice''. The concept is that the Humans spawn without mongooses near them, they have to find them within the map. On the opposite end of the map, the Infected gets into a Revenant and tries to splatter the humans that are running, or flip the people off their mongooses and then splatter them. This gametype has been tweaked and tested as much as possible to find a combination between its two Halo 3 counterparts. The map in its self has many aesthetics, and helpful spots to protect from the revenant. Here are some tips for both of the sides of the gametype.

    Infected:

    • When trying to splatter the humans, don't always boost at them, it may make you lose some control, the splatter is very sensitive in the gametype.
    • When trying to flip one off of a mongoose, don't always keep firing at them, it may end up flipping them right-side up.
    • Try shooting the mongooses off the edge, that will also result in a kill.
    Humans:

    • Try to sprint away from the revenant, it may save your life.
    • Use the teleporter to your advantage, that may also save your life.
    • USE HOLOGRAMS, when they spawn, trade it for the sprint, a risk/reward situation here, the revenant driver may not know the diference between the humans and the holograms, but you may not be able to sprint away from the reventant.
    • Use the objects to hide behind.
    • Most Impotently USE COMMON SENSE, if you see the revenant, run away.
    Misc. Gametype Information:
    • The Revenant Driver can shoot at the humans that are on foot, it will not do much damage, so it is not recommended.
    • If the infected falls off the map, the round will not end until there is a last man, or the time runs out, this is a glitch with Bungie, we can not currently fix it, it will hopefully be fixed when there is an update to the game.
I Heard you like Pictures of the Map? Well, here they are!

Had fun times testing this with you guys. Great map, good aesthetics, and a cool new take on the Cat 'n Mouse/Tremors/Splatter gametype. The only negative is that it's hard to kill the mice/geese when you first play the game; however, it does add a skill gap and makes you want to keep playing. It's also kind of like Tremors 'n Mouse in that it's fun to be the geese and the rev, instead of one being more fun than the other.

Overall, really cool map and one of the best mini-games I've seen for Reach so far.

I absolutely loved testing this map! I enjoyed basically every aspect of it! Being able to choose wether or not to take a mongoose was a great idea! The map itself was a great use of Alaska. It had an overall enjoyable layout to it as well.

Originality: 4.5/5 (just the idea is a little borrowed from tremors n mice, nothing bad)
Fun: Easy 5/5, I enjoyed testing this even in it's early stages.
Map Layout: Felt fresh and reminded me of some other old mini game maps in Halo 3, 5/5.
Overall: 5/5 The game itself was very well and thoroughly tested and there doesn't really seem to be anything left to fix. A great first mini game for my map collection, just a few hundred more to go :p Hope to see more maps for this, just like tremors in H3.
