So, I tried to create a trap where a player can shoot an explosive barrel (Fixed) that is holding up a giant 4x4 block (normal) that is balanced on it, but when I blow up the barrel, the block does not fall.

Can someone provide me with any solutions to get a trap like this to work? The target, or trigger, can be anywhere I just want the end result of a giant block falling on a spartan's head. Let me know if I can clarify anything. Thanks!

okay, the problem is you are thinking 'normal' means, it doesn't stay in one place. this isn't the case, however. when you think of 'normal' you should think about Halo 3. it is an immovable object, so when it is placed on the normal setting, it will move until it settles. after it settles, it will never move again unless you edit it. the block 4x4 is immovable, and its has settled on the fusion coil. therefore it will not move again.

Thanks coolguy, that makes sense... So how can I get a 4x4 block to fall due to a trigger?

Maybe keep it from settling until it is released?

It doesn't work like that either. In the custom game it will be in the place where it settled in forge and not where you let go. Technically, It would be impossible to pull this off...

    Possible Solutions:

    • Use fusion coils (fixed) under a one way shield door (facing down at the top of the fusion coils. Put some Fusion Coils Normal on top of the shield door. Shoot the fix coils and it will unblock the path for the other fusion coils to fall through.
    • You could always just use landmines... Maybe place in a position where if someone shoots it, it can drop another landmine to blow victims up.

That's all I've come up with for now, I might be back later.

Dang, this looked interesting. The only thing you can do is change "It's a trap" in the picture to my avvy.

So fusion coils and other explosives can move, but building blocks cannot. =(

Maybe I could drop a tank, or some other object on them.... not exactly what I wanted, but might work.

    Any ideas?

All I can think of is the crates, they will fall just like a tank, not sure if they are enough to smash a spartan though.

Yeah, maybe I'll gather up a bunch of golf balls inside some walls and release them like a gumball machine just cracked open.

It could be fun to watch someone get smothered by a bunch of objects raining down on them. =)
