This is my first Reach map. Dagger's Point is a competetive map constructed on the island, that is intended for large team battles. It is still in the testing phase, but so far it is playable on Team Slayer, Slayer, MultiFlag, and King of the Hill. Glass House Light House Recon Tower / Sniper Perch Skywatch Forged Canyon Landing Pad (Switches between Banshee for FFA, and a Falcon for team games) Download Dagger’s Point (Beta version)(The map is currently undergoing playtesting. It is currently only playable on Slayer, CTF, and King of the Hill.)
Just downloaded it, looks very nice. Honesty right here though: I probably won't play it with the suggested amount of people, All of my halo reach friends are always on matchmaking, and barely ever join for a custom, but having a fly around the map... you know, its pretty impressive. You've succeeded. This map looks like it could be from campaign, granted, we don't have the tools that bungie use, but it looks like it could just fit in I like the attention to detail you have on the buildings, like a little generator on top and stuff. One thing i would say I didn't like is the HUGE ramp up to the sniper spawn, its really open, and could become a bit tedious, so much so that nobody would use the sniper. A little hint I read on the bungie forums said that all of a map's structures (give or take a few) should have at least 2 entrances and exits . But i'm not too sure how it will play. Heres an idea, since its still in its testing phase, if i'm online on forgehub, give us an invite to the game Edit: Just another note: Your rock formations and that little bunker you built from scratch are really good (The one bottom right in picture 10)
Thanks a lot. It's nice to hear my work is appreciated. A full party would play awesome, but you can have a good 6 player Free for All on it as well. I really wanted to make something that didn't just look like another creative arena set up. I wanted to make funtional buildings that had a strong aesthetic appeal. Having just played campaign, I had a few in game locations in mind when designing the map. That ramp is problematic and I'll most likely do some changes to it, but I want to see how it tests first. Also, as far as the buildings with one entry point, I didn't put objective placements in these buildings and they are still accessible by Jet Pack as an alternative route. I'll probably be having a customs Sunday afternoon if you are interested. Thanks, I used my very last rock piece completing that formation. It was a close call, but I'm happy with the results. Also, thanks for taking the time to give such detailed feedback. It's most appreciated.
