First, I'm sorry if this has already been disscussed. Fans of the Battlefield series may remember a map called "Bridge Too Far" from Battlefield 2:MC. It was one of my favorite maps from that game, and I'm sure it would make an outstanding Halo map, especially for BTB objective gametypes. I just don't know if it would be possible to forge it. So to the people who are far more knowledgeable about forge's limitations than I (that should be just about everybody), is it possible to make a Bridge Too Far map in Forgeworld? Or is it a wild fantasy? Here are some visual aids if you're not familier with the map. (I can't get the video to post correctly, maybe someone could help out with that)
Oh god, did I love that map way back then... As for trying to remake it, I would have to say that it's going to be really hard... MAYBE if you scaled down the map and stripped everything but the most important part of it then you might just be able to pull it off. Though, despite what we have in Forge 2.0 it still has it's limitations and so trying to remake such a large scale map like Bridge Too Far would just not do the map justice that it deserves.
I agree, it would need to be scaled down because of the simple fact that it is intended for 24 players. I think if some key points are replicated (like the bridge) then you could get something that has a similar feel. Unfortunatley I suck at forging so I probably wouldn't do a good job on it.
This forum, unlike many, doesn't have youtube tags. Just put in tags or just leave the link and it...like it'll be hard on a budget, but possible.
What makes you sure a Battlefield map would work in Halo? It no doubt could with significant modification, but it will end up as a very different map. Yes it would be possible, but again probably only with significant modification.
