i was dissapointed when there wasnt a boss fight wit a arbiter or something. but when noble 6 was dieing (btw that was cool how the visor cracked and stuff) they should have have an arbiter come and stab him. i just wanted like a swoard on swoard fight wit an arby. i thought it would be cool. AND WTF HAPPENED TO JUN? did he escape? did he die? they did not tell us? wtf. and am i the only one that thought there would be a chief cammeo? i still like the ending, this is just how i think it would be cooler edit: never mind i know of the chief at the end and i also know jun is either dead or with halsey at castle base
Spoiler If you had read the Halo novel 'First Strike' you'd know clearly that Jun doesn't make it. In the book, Halsey is all by her self in CASTLE base. Jun clearly must have died on the trip. Only possible outcome that fits canon.
I don't know how you can be disappointed by the ending. it tied the series together better than revenge of the sith did for star wars, IMO
The characters die in the order of the Statue. (Legendary edition) FUN FACT. Im just glad they showed off Master Chief. I would like to know why Emile didn't die as soon as he got stabbed. "Badass Unlocked". I am very dissapointed at the fact that we have to pay 15,000 for Buck. I can play ODST as him for Free. Why add a cost? I also am saying the same with the campaign characters. Carter is 100,000. WTF? Damn.
Arbiter wasn't arbiter back then. Arbiter was the Shipmaster and I believe Fleet Admiral of the Fleet of Particular Justice(?). Arbiter is a rank he gained AFTER Halo 1 because Master Chief single handedly brought the covenant's plan down. Arbiter is NOT a prestigious rank by any means. Arbiter is a 'You must go on suicide mission after suicide mission until you don't come back' role.
He could've, you know, been redeployed to defend other military installations, pr escaped Reach somehow.
This. It is an easter egg, you have to hold down a certain button when the cutscene starts, I believe. I forget which one.
Boss fight? Survive mofo! Arbiter? When was Arbiter ever there? Swoard? I wish I had a I believe Jun died on the 2nd Pelican ship at the end of the game, just after handing off Spoiler Cortana More chief cammeo? He was on Reach. Firefight voice. If you got Halsey's Journal she talks about Jon.
i did not mean the arbiter in halo 2 i meant an arbiter. just a ramdom elite or some sort made to die. and i di think the ending was cool i just would have rathered it to end like that
IMO, Reach should have had 2 possible endings. The first one: Noble Six dies. (the real one) The second one: It is possible but extremely hard to survive the Lone Wolf mission, but if you do, you get to see the planet get glassed and Noble Six dies that way.
Spoiler She also learns of the SPARTAN-IIIs at CASTLE Base, so fitting canon doesn't matter that much. It's a lot easier to think of book and game canon as seperate stories. On topic, boss fights are bad. Fighting Tartarus in Halo 2 was a bad way to end the game, especially when it was followed by, "Finishing this fight."
I don't even think there was an Arbiter when Reach was being destroyed. It isn't a rank that they have at all times. It's there to make an example of members of the Covenant who fail miserably (e.g. the Arbiter we know letting Halo get blown up). And like someone stated previously, isn't a rank you ever want since they send you on impossible missions until you die. I'm fine with how it ended. I didn't expect some sort of epic boss battle. The reason the Covenant overthrew Reach is because they overran it, and in the areas they were loosing in they just retreated and started to glass it (which is what made them difficult enemies to begin with, they're rubbish at ground battles). In the Noble team's case, they just got overrun most of the time. Even a Spartan has a limit to what they can handle.
I loved that ending. Having a Boss Battle you could win would leave the impression that Reach and its inhabitants stand a chance which is goes completely against everything that happened during the game! The Covenant is here. Reach is screwed. The characters even reference the fact that they're losing. Edit: And as for the Arbiter thing, that gives the impression that Noble 6 would have been fine if it wasn't for this 1 bad guy, which isn't true. There's a full Covenant army, which he doesn't stand a chance of beating
It's almost impossible to set up a loosing battle that plays well in video games, but throughout the game, and especially in the end Bungie pulled it off wonderfully. Quit complaining about something that was so good.
that would've been cool, I was the tiniest bit disappointed there wasn't a planet glassing cut scene. Even if the game play was the same and there was another cut scene showing it, it would have been better. I will say though, other than that I was completely satisfied with it. The last mission (before lone wolf) was difficult and fun, seeing the pillar of autumn take off with the chief inside was awesome.
i never said the ending is bad i just thought it would have been cool with an arbiter in it, like when noble 6 was on the ground an arbiter just comes and kills him instead of zealots or whatever there ranks were
