My friend and I are making a map in Forge World that is a giant circular race track and in the middle of the circle, high in the sky, is a platform for the "zombie" with a sniper rifle and rockets. The goal is to drive your mongoose around the circular track as fast as possible without being killed by the zombie and once you get to the end of the track, you can teleport up to the same height as the zombie and get a sniper rifle to try and kill him.

Everything is working fine but we are having issues with the number of lives that players have in the game. In our Halo 3 version, if the players just fell to their death off of the track, they would spawn back at the beginning and get to keep trying until the zombie killed them. Then they would turn into zombies and try to snipe as well. So as normal players, they basically had unlimited lives. The zombie however, only had one life. So as soon as he was dead, the round was over.

I can't figure out how to do this in Halo: Reach. If the players fall to their deaths, they are changed to zombies and we only want them to change if they are killed by the zombie. Also, the zombie has more than one life so if he gets killed, he'll re-spawn and the player that killed him can quickly kill him again and again and rack up a bunch of points. Does anyone know how to do what we are trying to do? I have looked for a long time and can't figure it out.

I hope everything I have said makes sense, if not let me know and I'll try to explain it better.

    Thanks!

There's a setting in custom gametype that says "Suicides become zombies". Just change it to disabled, and you'll be all set.

Awesome. Is there a way to give the zombie just one life? That way when he's dead, the round is over?

You could set everyone to one life, and instead of falling to their death, you can place a huge teleporter under the track. That way if the players fall off, they would teleport back to the beginning. You could keep the zombie at one life that way too.
