My Dad works on Desktops, Computers, Phones and Servers and may have just solved issues of playing Halo:Reach on the 4GB Xbox 360 Slim. At a Cost though! My dad tried surfing the net for some tech support with xbox slims. He had to buy himself a new one because he gave his old one. Mine happen to die on Sept 16th (My Birthday). Anywho, Since he couldn't find any info. He decide to take apart the casing for the 120GB Hard Drive from the Old one and put it inside the new one. And It worked! Though the only issue is that you can't remove it from the Xbox. You have to keep it inside the Xbox at all times. However, He did manage to play through Halo:Reach with me and 2 of his friends at work. Sadly, this means if you happen to have you xbox die, Make sure you place all you DLC on a USB Stick. That way if your Xbox dies, Your account can be recovered and your DLC is always with you. 1. Buy a USB 16GB Stick 2. Transfer all the DLC to you USB Stick. 3. Recover account over XBL if Xbox Dies. Infinite Life!
This is the fix I used. I just bought a preowned 20GB HDD (even though it said I only had 13GB available when it was totally empty...), smashed it up and plugged the actual hard drive bit in to my Xbox. As for being stuck, I'm sure you could still wiggle it out. There's space around the HDD, you could stick something in to grab hold of it.
